The CO intends to re-employ this role from the Quartermaster Technical into a Training Major, responsible for all the training and during training weekends and Annual Camp. The responsibilities will include:

1. Coordinating the planning and execution of all reserve training with the Battalion HQ staff and Company 2ICs.

2. Ensuring all reserve training is planned and conducted in line with the Safe System of Training / health and safety standards.

3. Assist the XO and Battalion 2IC in the formulation of the Battalion Forecast of Events.

4. Responsible for the management and accounting of the unit vehicle fleet, ammunition, weapon, stores and accommodation when deployed.

5. Manage and write all Reserve soldier reports within the G2 Intelligence / G3 Operations / G5 Plans / G7 Training team.

 

Selected for promotion to Major. Previous G2/3/5/7 experience.
Intermediate Command and Staff College (Land Reserves), Platoon Commanders Battle Course (Reserve), All Arms Quarter Master.
A Regimental Appointment Board scheduled for 26 Apr 23 will consider an applicant’s last 3 annual appraisals and the CV and PPP submitted. The CO may wish to interview candidates prior to the RAB.

45 RSDs+ for role and command responsibilities. The applicant will be expected to attend Tue evening training in their Army Reserve Centre, approximately 1 weekend per month and a 2 week annual continuation training exercise or course within the training year. Applicants are required to maintain currency in their Individual Training Requirements (ITRs).

 

Candidates who have been out of regular or reserve service for more than 5 years may be considered for this appointment. Prior approval must be sought from the relevant Professions Advisor to confirm current and past experience prior to being invited to interview. Personnel currently serving in the Regular Army should be mindful of the current Notice To Terminate and Early Release policy for their respective rank and profession and ensure this is compatible with the post proposed start date, prior to applying. Personnel taking this appointment from other Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) should consider the impact on any accrued entitlements, such as leave, resettlement, pay etc and should seek specialist guidance where required as certain entitlements are TCoS specific and may not be retained or transferred on transition between TCoS.

 

In accordance with the Flexible Working (FW) Policy, Reserve personnel can request FW arrangements with their line manager. Any immediate FW requirements should be agreed with the line management at the interview stage. By default this role will come with a laptop and IT systems to allow personnel to manage their work remotely, but some in person attendance will be required.
