Position Role: Staff Officer supporting Engagement, Communications & Outreach (EC&O) for the Army in Scotland (AiS). Required to plan and coordinate the delivery of AiS engagement and communications, both operational & non-operational, for internal, national and international audiences within the context of a devolved nation. 
1. Support SO1 EC&O in the planning and delivery of AiS engagement and outreach ensuring military activity & its messaging is coherent, exploited and aligned with Mil Strat effects. 
2. Lead SO2 for AiS engagement and outreach messaging and information-based activity to the AiS units, Army and Joint HQs, partner agencies across Scotland and into the Office of Secretary of State to Scotland and ScotGov. 
3. Support SO1 EC&O on Target Audience Analysis and Measure of Effectiveness (MoE) of AiS engagement activity. 
4. Support the implementation of a functional and modern AiS social media network. 
5. Collate and identify AiS Engt best practice in order to share with the Army UK Engt community and be the lead SO2 on the AiS Outreach and Engagement rolling 18 month programme. 
6. Head of the Engagement, Communications & Outreach team with Line Manager/RO responsibilities for a sizeable and mixed workforce team. 
7. Act as First Reporting Officer for WO2 Engt. 
8. Deliver other HQ tasks and duties as required. 
ICSC(L/(LR) essential, ACSC (Reg/Res) preferred. 
IT proficient. UK lic. PVG.
Previous Info Ops training, External Affairs and marketing/PR experience of significant value. 
Previous Grade 2 staff experience preferred.
Requires experience and broad understanding of the Army, Firm Base and Engagement.

This is a wide-ranging, busy and influential appointment.  It presents a real opportunity to drive the development of AiS Outreach and Communications across the devolved nation and UK.  The role requires an organised, tactful, articulate officer able to work within a mixed workforce team delivering the AiS’s engagement programme across Scotland.
