Scope 
 
The Recruitment Officer (RO) acts as the deputy for the Senior Recruitment Officer (SRO) and provides the tactical oversight and management of recruiting and outreach activity in a specific Area. Regular travel will be required to area AFCOs, Recruitment & Attraction (R&A) HQ and training establishments.
 
Responsibilities 
  
Oversee and lead Area Recruitment staff. 
 
Liaise with key stakeholders (e.g. OAC, R&A HQ) regarding specific applications and to ensure the continued development of processes and policies.
 
As required, interact and correspond with potential officer candidates preparing to enter the RN/RM. 

Attend the OAC and R&A every 6 months to ensure currency.

To act as the First Reporting Officer (1RO) for the Recruitment Managers (RMs) and Second Reporting Officer (2RO) for the Team Managers (TMs) and the Area Co-ordinator. Ensuring they maintain sufficient F2F engagement in line with JSP757 to enable them to report accurately and with first-hand evidence.
 
Act as the Line Manager for the E1 Civil Servant Administration Officers and if applicable Business Support Co-ordinators.

Act as the Area D&I advisor, Local Security Officer (LSO), ITSO and Area SharePoint Lead.

Ensure all staff remain in date for all mandatory training, including NCT and CPD.  

In conjunction with the SRO, oversee all Area Outreach activity being co-ordinated with the RMs, TMs and Area Co-ordinator and attend Officer specific recruitment serials as required.

In conjunction with the SRO conduct Coaching and Mentoring for all staff in their Area.

To deliver FEBs for Officer candidates prior to entry into BRNC and CTCRM.

Accountability

The RO is accountable to the SRO. The SRO is the First Reporting Officer (1RO) and the CO Recruiting Force (RF) is the Second Reporting Officer (2RO). 

Must be an OF2 of ANY specialisation. OF1 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent OJAR will be considered. 

OF3 applicants, if successful, will only be paid as and wear the rank of OF2.

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Applicants will undergo an initial eligibility sift. Successful applicants will have their details forwarded to the Post Sponsor to arrange interviews. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Following interviews; the successful applicant will be informed that they are the Preferred Candidate with details being sent to the CM RES FTRS Cell who will continue the recruitment process. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Once the recruitment process is complete then the Preferred Candidate will be invited to take up FTRS.

The start date is the anticipated one however, applicants should be aware a number of factors will potentially impact on this including the completion of pre-employment checks, medical category confirmation and the award of a Security Clearance. The start date could therefore be adjusted as appropriate – earlier for a fully qualified person with their and the employers agreement, or later if approvals cannot be immediately completed.


INITIAL COMMITMENT LENGTH WILL BE 12 MONTHS WITH POTENTIAL TO EXTEND

NB: Where the Anticipated Start date has already passed, the start date will be ASAP 


Eligibility for FTRS/ADC

Any member of the Maritime Volunteer Reserves (RNR, RMR) or the Royal Fleet Reserves (RFR) (Ex-Regular Reserve) may volunteer to undertake a period of FTRS/ADC. Ex-Regular personnel whose RFR liability has run out may be re-instated to take up FTRS/ADC.

Applicants undertaking a period of FTRS/ADC must be suitably qualified by rank, specialisation, qualifications and experience to fill the posts for which they apply. Applications will be accepted from reservists who hold one rank or more above or one rank only below the advertised rank. Applicants one rank below may be employed in the acting higher rank if they are suitable, qualified and meet current promotion regulations in all respects. Applicants prepared to serve in a position at a lower rank then the rank worn will be appropriate to that of the position. Exceptions will not normally be considered.

Applicants must also be medically fit to fulfil the duties which their Commitment will require them to undertake. Personnel who have been discharged P8 permanently unsuitable Naval Service through the MBOS and Employability Board will not be considered.
