Vacancy detail

1. Principal advisor and staff link to police forces in and around London.  Responsible for constant maintenance of effective relations and networking between LONDIST and Police at all levels.

2.  For SCPD, is the initial point of contact for all police forces (MPS, CoLP, BTP, MDP and TVP). Coordinates the delivery of State Ceremonial and Public Duty (SCPD) outputs where there is Police interaction.

3.  Supports the GOC and DComd during State Ceremonial events by acting as the Military representative in the MPS (or other Police Control Rooms).

5.  Works with the JRLOs to form LONDIST UK Ops and Resilience team.  Supports UK Ops outputs when required.

6.  Supports JRLOs responding to MPS GOLD and SILVER in the event of a major incident.  Contributes to R2 relating to major events in London.

7.  Attend RAVEC and SRC with GOC and COS.

8.  Any other duty agreed by GOC, COS, JRLO Plans.

1.Able to respond swiftly and effectively to fast changing environment, often at short notice

2.High EQ skills.  Must be Able to build relationships and work closely and efficiently with London stakeholders and OGDs

3.Must be an effective communicator, orally and in writing.  Good staff skills required

4.A working knowledge of MPS operational planning and C2 and of UK Military Operations

Working as part of the UK Ops team, the post holder must be able to work independently and prioritise work. Post holder needs an excellent understanding of the MPS, CoLP, BTP and MDP organisations and police operational (non-criminal) procedures.  A good understanding of how London stakeholders and OGDs impact on military activity in London.  Must be able to support multi-agency planning to support HQ LONDIST activity. Post holder must have a broad understanding of the Cat 1 responders in the UK Ops environment.

Some out of hours and weekend work; needs to be readily available for short notice call out for operations.  The role requires the post holder to be at 6 hours NTE to support the JRLOs on some operations.
