Vacancy detail

1.    Support the Officer Commanding as their principal staff officer. 
2.    Advise the Officer Commanding on personnel matters for Army personnel and the Sqn Enabling Component, to include honours and awards, discipline, medical employment policy and the command care of wounded, injured and sick personnel.
3.    Support the Regimental Administration Officer (RAO) in managing the Squadron’s Military Personnel Administrators and Financial Systems Administrator. 
4.    Carry out Line Management and Reporting Officer duty for 5 civil servants and lead on Civil Service recruitment.
5.    Carry out the duties of Attesting Officer for personnel enlisting into the Army Reserve and manage terminations and the transfer of personnel between units. 
6.    Carry out the duties of Regimental Career Management Officer for all Army Reserve soldiers, including running grading, promotion and appointment boards.  Advise on Army Reserve Officer career management and support the 2IC with JPA Appraisal Administration.
7.    Assure the readiness of Army Reserve personnel for deployment undertaking regular management checks on behalf of the RAO.
8.    Conduct the mobilisation of Army Reserve personnel, in conjunction with the Army Personnel Centre, Mission Ready Training Centre and Commander Maritime Reserves.
9.    Provide liaison and support to employers to enable personnel to be released for exercises and operations, and monitor their integration back into employment on demobilisation.
10.    Carry out the duties of the Branch Security Officer and liaise with relevant stakeholders, including Headquarters London District and the Metropolitan Police, regarding intelligence and security. 
11.    Carry out the duties of an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Adviser and Squadron Welfare Officer - manage the vetting status of Squadron personnel. 
12.    Provide the lead Squadron point of contact with the Army Personnel Centre and the relevant Manning Bricks at Army Headquarters. 
13.    Support the Officer Commanding’s management of the Squadron public and non-public funds as a Service Fund Manager, and management of Commander Maritime Reserves budgets (reserve service day and miscellaneous). 
14.    Deliver the Commanding Officer’s Recruiting and Retention Plan in conjunction with the Regimental Mentoring Support Officer, management teams and recruiting staff. 
15.    Assist with the routine administration of the ARC, including supervision of contracts, liaison with suppliers and management of key stakeholders including Headquarters London District, Greater London Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, Alternative Venues London and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation.

131 Cdo Sqn is the Army Reserve sub-unit of 24 Cdo RE, which is based at Chivenor in North Devon. The Squadron is made up of four troops - two based in London with the Squadron Headquarters, one in Birmingham and one in Bath.  Occasional weekend work and some travel is required.  A full driving licence is required.
