FTRS - Limited Commitment

Vacancy detail

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a WO2 (ANY) (rank-ranged OR7-OR8) to join the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) RN-RM team in the newly created WO2 OPERATIONS role. This is based in the CCF HQ, HMNB Portsmouth on FTRS (Limited Commitment).

As the WO2 (Operations) you are responsible for supporting CCF RN-RM SO2 (Executive Officer/Training) and the Senior Management Team, principally with developing and improving upon all aspects of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) RN-RM Training Programme.  As WO2 (OPS) you will also be fully involved in supporting the Commander CCF RN-RM to take forwards a new government-mandated phase of the Cadet Expansion Programme, supporting any project work convened in order to deliver an enduring solution for RN-RM cadets. WO2 (OPS) will also be responsible for establishing links into key areas of the RN which can offer the cadets an insight into the RN and developing a strong working relationship within these areas in order for the CCF RN-RM to make maximum advantage of all opportunities available. (This includes co-ordinating all Ship Visits, Affiliated Ship Visits, and visits to the RN DRIUs/Fire Fighting.) The post holder should proactively seek other opportunities from within the RN-RM which will add value to the cadet experience, and which will support the cadets in gaining a wider understanding and appreciation of the RN.

This is a dynamic and intensely rewarding job, working in support of young people to deliver the Cadet experience: providing a challenging and stimulating ‘cadet experience’ within schools that develops and inspires young people through the ethos and standards of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. Ideally you will be motivated and committed to support young people, proactive and able to work both independently and at pace. Any necessary training will be given. Full details can be found in the Terms of Reference.
