Task requirements  

This is a superb opportunity to fill a short term (12 month) role on a ADC contract as the SO2 Human Security Training Requirement Authority for the Ministry of Defence. You will work in a dynamic Joint 4* HQ alongside the SO1 Human Security within UKStratCom.  Up to 180 days are available for an immediate start. You will be responsible for setting up the Training Requirement Authority for all three Services on Human Security in Defence. Working out of Northwood HQ although the role could be conducted with a mixture of Office/WfH/Alternate MOD location working.  Precise working days and hours would be agreed between the individual and the CoC.

The SO2 HS TRA will be the lead Human Security TRA in defence and encompasses the responsibilities of a TRA as laid out in JSP 822 part 1. The TRA is the ultimate authority and is responsible for the maintenance of the Role Performance Statement (Role PS).

Responsibilities

The role includes, although is not limited to:

  • Initially setting the requirement for Human Security training activity across the MOD.
  • Responsible for the evaluation of the effect of the training in achieving the Role PS wherever that training is delivered.
  • Take account of the requirements of the individual TRA’s in the Single Services.
  • Ensuring training activity meets the requirement for Human Security training. 
  • Ensuring that the training delivers Value for Money.
  • Ensuring that any Human Security training meets organisational objectives.

Accountability

SO2 HS TRA Engagement Team Leader is accountable to SO1 HS UKStratCom. DCOS UKStratCom is the Second Reporting Officer.

Authority

The SO2 HS TRA position requires working harmoniously in a joint environment and to be able to seamlessly liaise successfully across the 3 Services as well as wide range of HLB’s within UKStratCom including external and internal stakeholders at all levels.

This staff officer will regularly brief to their SO1 and beyond.

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Must have SC.

Human Security or a Training background would be desirable. 
DV clearance desirable.

Must be RN, Army or RAF of OF3 Rank of any Specialisation.  OF2 Rank applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent OJAR will be considered.

TaCoS must be established first. Applicants will undergo an initial eligibility sift. Successful applicants will have their details forwarded to the Post Sponsor to arrange interviews. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Following interviews; the successful applicant will be informed that they are the Preferred Candidate with details being sent to the appropriate Reserves Career Management Cell who will continue the recruitment process. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Once the recruitment process is complete then the Preferred Candidate will be invited to take up the appointment.
