Position Role: Warrant Officer in HQ RC supporting SO2 Engt Plans (Communities) responsible for planning and delivering Engage to Recruit (E2R) effect through establishing and maintaining relationships with key communities from within the Army Personnel Campaign Main Target Audiences, primarily within UK Ethnic Minorities (EM).

Responsibilities:

  1. Act as lead full time warrant officer in RC Engt Branch supporting E2R planning and delivery of engagement effect.
  2. Liaise, establish and maintain relationships with minority communities to facilitate Army 1* and 2* level engagement iso Op MOBILISE and sustainment of the Future Soldier workforce (WF).
  3. Provide SME level understanding of the environment to exploit opportunities in a culturally sensitive and relevant manner to develop and deepen community engagement.
  4. Actively support developing and embedding persistent Army engagement with the EM and other minority communities. In particular, maintain and make explicit for use by the Army of a network of key leader and other contacts from the EM and minority communities.
  5. Tactical lead on use of EM engagement template to include outreach, Cadet, Regular and Reserve Services.
  6. Support SO1 EM and SO2 Engt Plans (Communities) to ensure engagement activity is coherent drawing together the different strands of civil engagement IOT deliver joined up EM engagement.
  7. Act as a HQ RC SME on Diversity and Cultural Awareness issues.

8. Deliver lead advisory role in planning/delivering CE Team Study Periods and Engt staff trg including production of cultural learning material. 

Languages enhance ability to engage across communities, largest UK EM populations speak Hindi or Urdu.

Domestic Considerations: Must be available for weekday working in HQ RC, Aldershot.  Some evening and weekend work. Will involve some UK-wide travel. Will require nights away from duty station.

This is a specialist post which will conduct a targeted approach to deliver UK EM and minority communities engagement effect across the country. This high calibre individual will operate in direct support of Governmental direction to increase UK EM inflow into the Army and Op MOBILISE / Future Soldier Sustain the Workforce. The ideal candidate is one who will be able to represent our Internal (Army) EM community to external UK EM audiences.   

UK Civil Engt is ideal for innovative thinkers who seek a novel opportunity in a high profile and, at times, experimental field.  The right candidate will be encouraged to trial new ideas to engage with the UK EM/minority communities’ segment of the Army’s MTAs (11-36 yo), as well as influence their gatekeepers and community leaders.  The individual must have a deep and authentic understanding of UK’s EM communities.
