Vacancy detail

1. Lead, direct, deliver and administer Bn training iaw CO 6 MI Bn’s Training Directive, with the aim of maximising training effectiveness and increasing individual competence to deliver 6 MI Bn outputs (trade and deployability status).
2. Plan, deliver, validate, and assure all Bn delivered training on behalf of the CO, including development of an annual training programme, with input from Bn and Coy training staff and the Coy OCs.
3. Provide guidance, oversight and assurance to the training delivered to Ph 2 intelligence trainees; and maintain the supervisory care of all trainees in accordance with the CO’s Supervisory Care Directive.
4. Support and provide guidance, oversight and assurance to all Coy led training activity.
5. Direct and manage all Bn training staff and Coy training staff (in consultation with Coy HQ staff).
6. Act as the Unit Adventure Training Officer and support all Adventure Training activity, providing advice and assistance where required.
7. Manage training resources effectively and provide the lead for Bn CHURCHILL and MUSTER activity.
8. Engage with Bde LDA and Int Corps TRAs where appropriate, to ensure the training requirements of 6 MI Bn are captured.

6 MI Bn has recently transitioned from a Reserve unit to a Hybrid unit, incorporating a Bn HQ,  2 x Reserve Coys, 2 x Regular Coys and a Hybrid HQ Coy - with an anticipated FOC date of 1 Apr 24. The Bn is dislocated across several locations, with the Bn HQ in Upavon, HQ Coy in Manchester and Sub-units in Manchester, Stourbridge (det in Bletchley), Bulford, and Hermitage.
The Training Wing will remain in Manchester to support training delivery to the Reserve Coys until a decision is made in 2024 whereby some elements may relocate to Upavon. There will be a requirement to attend Wednesday evening drill nights, and to travel to ensure G7 support and assurance is provided throughout the Bn.

Due to no military accommodation in Manchester the Service Substitute Accommodation process is to be followed.
