Vacancy detail

Domestic Considerations: FTRS (HC) post.  Lone working on frequent occasions.  Travel both within and outside NI and overnight/weekend duties will be required.
Position Role:  JNCO UDR and R IRISH Aftercare Service Field Team Welfare Caseworker.  
Responsibilities: 
1. Deliver empathetic support to UDR and R IRISH(HS) veterans and their dependants and be prepared to extend this to other veterans on direction. 
2. Caseworker in regional team working with an extensive network of stakeholders in the delivery of holistic welfare support including communicating the needs and developing the casework of UDR and R IRISH(HS) veterans.
3. Conduct office/home based interviews with veterans and their dependants to determine need & arrange follow-up support with all relevant agencies to meet identified need.
4. Provide emotional support, advice and guidance and offer practical assistance to improve the lives of veterans and their dependants. 
5. Provide Management Information on individual performance to the Field Team Leader by accounting for hours worked and resources consumed as well as articulating the outcome of casework using designated IT applications.
6. Adhere to financial policy in respect of petty cash, benevolence fund grant applications, other support activities, provision of receipts and processing bills and payments as necessary.
7. Undertake additional duties in support of the efficient and effective running of the Aftercare Service, including team administration, training and resource/facilities management.
8.  Other duties as required.
Previous military experience with sound leadership qualities and decision-making skills.  Ability to work safely unsupervised.  Driving licence and IT proficiency.
Previous practical welfare delivery experience.  Knowledge of NI security situation and risk awareness.
