The Role of SO2 Fast-Track Case Manager is to support bespoke Decision Bodies (DBs) in order to ensure Service Complaints (SC) are managed in a fair, timely and efficient manner.  

  1. Staffing and Case Management of Fast-Track SC in accordance with extant policy (JSP 831, ACSO 3358), managing the end to end process of all SC in support of Voluntary Engagement Regular Reserve (VeRR) DBs. Including drafting investigation Terms of Reference (TOR), directing Investigation Officers (IOs), offering advice to DBs, and preparation of oral & written briefs to senior leadership as required.
  2. Liaison with Specified Officers (SOs) and their staff to ensure all information relevant to an SC referred to Fast-Track is presented, and the identification and retrieval of missing information.
  3. Seek legal advice as necessary. Be prepared to support DBs with investigations and case development as appropriate.
  4. Provide written updates to the Complainant and Respondent(s) regarding status of the SC.
  5. Redact and disclose Investigation Reports (IRs), mostly electronically, to Complainant and Respondent(s) and then collate comments, including them in the case file.
  6. Update Management Information Systems (MIS), including JPA, hard copy case files and electronic filing system.
  7. Contribute to the lessons learnt process by identifying and staffing lessons as required.
  8. Liaise closely with other Fast Track Case Managers and undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by SO1 Fast-Track and SC Secretary.

Must have previous staff experience. 

This is a role for a broadly experienced generalist who is able to engage with a breadth of issues.

Previous G1 experience desirable

Sub unit Command - Have an in-depth understanding of routine military way of life to include general knowledge of current rules and regulations

Must be able to rapidly identify and then analyse the key issues and then drive solutions.

Considerations: Remote working is supported and enabled with appropriate IT, however the post holder should be able to work in the office for three days each week, depending on workflow. 

This post is ideally suited to the continuity and stability provided by a FTRS (HC) officer. The post holder will need to be a competent, conscientious and IT literate Staff Officer, who has an interest in SP welfare. The successful applicant will enjoy working within a diverse, friendly and motivated mixed military and civil servant team focused on the rewarding task of righting wrongs.

The post holder should be aware of the following:

-The requirement for absolute discretion as the incumbent will handle daily, confidential personal information of a highly sensitive nature.

- Attention to detail and the requirement for accuracy in their work as mistakes can have a disproportionate effect elsewhere in the Service Complaint process.

- Compassionate understanding of the nature of the work and the impact of undue delay
