1. Assist with (and lead where required) on SMU-related legacy issues, including inquiries, legal cases and policy implementation relating to but not limited to Afghanistan and NI. Act as case liaison to DJEP and DARR. 2. Provide generalist as well as SMU SME advice on Disclosures policy and issues responding to routine Disclosure cell inquiries and queries; 3. Conduct SMU SME redactions of sensitive documentation; 4. Read and conduct redactions of book manuscripts (drafts) as well as analysing online content for disclosure breaches utilising previous SMU operational experience and corporate knowledge; 5. Assist with Police investigations, advising witnesses and investigating bodies (DCSU, MDP/RMP and CIV Pol) on disclosure protocol and policy in support of investigations and formal interviews; 6. Represent SMU interests (National Security) in legal proceedings, including attendance at court. 7. Provide advice to Government Legal department (GLD) of the nature and harm of identified Disclosure breaches by using their SMU SME and corporate knowledge working in support of SMU litigation cases; 8. Act as a disclosure SME on SMU related Coroner’s Inquests (UK and overseas). |
