Unit Role: To enable, support and deliver key Army outputs whilst safeguarding and enhancing the Army’s brand and reputation.   All achieved through audience centric effects-focused engagement and effective communication activities, spanning internal, domestic and international arenas. 

Position Role:  SO3 in sub-branch responsible for support to UK resilience Ops, and G3 for wider tasks within the UK. Lead for G7 delivery. 
Responsibilities: 
1.  Provide support and advice to units deploying across the UK as part of Defence Activity. Liaising with SJC, JMCs, and Formations.
2.  Army Comms POC for UK resilience and MACA activity up to and including Op BRIDGE and Op GOLDEN ORB.
3.  Deliver Media training and individual FGen of Army Comms support to Operations and Training.
4.  Co-ordinate and deliver specialist and non-specialist media training to Army personnel, POC for JIAG media courses.
5.  Oversight of Army Comms planning and resource allocation, including staffing requests for asset support.
6.  1RO for Army photographer JNCOs, Responsible Officer for Army photographers stationed at Army HQ. Oversight of the G4 requirements of the photographers at Army HQ.
7.  Deputise for SO2 Ops.
8.  Undertake such other tasks or duties appropriate to rank as may be tasked by Army Comms.

Staff Experience.
Defence Communicators Course (cse bid as a priority on accepting the post).
Recent operational experience.
Previous Media Ops experience.

This role is a key position in Army Comms. It provides the Ops Offr function to the COS and sits at the heart of the Media Ops team. An ability to lead soldiers is required (manages the Phot teams) as well as an eye for detail. This role has a key staffing function in the day to day briefing and management of battle rhythm.   Andover based with routine working in London. Extended hours and weekend working during Op GOLDEN ORB. At other times, has scope for flexible working.  Domestic Considerations:  Requirement to complete occasional non-residential week-long duties during silent hours as point of contact for Army Comms.
