A vacancy has arisen for a Warrant Officer (Any) to serve as Squadron Warrant Officer on 7644 Sqn RAuxAF at RAF Halton on PTVR (90 Day) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 1 Aug 2023. Furthermore, IAW IBN46/20, the post is open for applicants to apply on alternative TCOS, such as VeRR.

Applicants are requested to make their TCOS preference clear in their application covering letter, for consideration during the selection process. Applicant to state how the role could be delivered on their preferred TCOS.

The role is currently located at RAF Halton. Due to Stn Closure plans, it is possible that this location may change once Project PORTAL has identified an alternative location for the Sqn. Applicants must be willing to move their place of duty with the Sqn, should this take place during their tenure.

The Squadron Warrant Officer of 7644 Sqn is responsible to OC 7644 Sqn through the Sqn XO, for the general discipline, standards and operational effectiveness of all Sqn personnel. They are responsible for the following:

The discipline, dress and deportment standards of all Sqn personnel.

Overseeing the procurement, issuing and secure management of theatre specific equipment (including uniform and high-value communications equipment) for this rapidly deployable (R1) capability.

Acting as main point of contact on the Sqn for MT, transportation and logistical support for Sqn taskings.

Guiding Junior Officers and NCO’s in respect of their duties and responsibilities.

Advising the OC on the issues of Aviators within the Sqn.

Leading on the planning and execution of Sqn Training Camps/Exercises.

Assisting with the administration of deployment administration when required.

Supporting the planning, design and execution of 9 Training Weekends a year, overseeing FS Training in this workstrand.

Organising the Sqn Annual Dinner and Sqn Awards Evening each year.

Acting as 1st and 2nd Reporting Officer for HQ FTRS NCOs, as well as a number of PTVR staff, as required.

The Sqn WO is also required to:

Work within, and comply with, the Data Protection Act, Diversity and Inclusion regulations and all other relevant policies.

Work within the Sqn CONEMP and AIR M&C direction for operational deployments.

To value the contributions of all personnel under their command, regardless of rank or different backgrounds and to challenge and deal swiftly with any form of intimidation, harassment, bullying or abuse

Additional Roles and Responsibilities

The Sqn WO is responsible to OC 7644 Sqn, for the following:

Compilation of the Sqn F540. In conjunction with SNCO Admin delivery of Sqn Standing and Routine orders.

Act as OIC of 7644 Sqn Fund.

Act as building Custodian for HQ 7644 Sqn Offices. Responsible for the reporting of faults in a timely and conducting all relevant building checks.

Maintain the 7644 Sqn Property Book.

Must either have been, or currently be, a Warrant Officer (Any) or a Flight Sergeant (Any) eligible for promotion in accordance with AP 3392 Vol 2 Leaflet 560 and AP 3376 Vol 1.All Promotions will be ratified by means of a Promotion Board. If an applicant has been out of full-time military service and is applying for a post on promotion, they will also need to send their civilian appraisals or equivalent to evidence recent skills, knowledge and experience to be considered by the Promotion Board.
