"Position / Role Context: This SO1 post is lifed for up to 3 year and will report directly to the OF5 Assistant Head of the UKStratCom Op Model Review team. The team, on behalf of DStrat (SRO) will be responsible for taking the recommendations of Ph1 and 2 of the Op Model Review – led by the Government Consulting Hub (GCH) -and developing them into packaged proposals for the approval of UKStratCom ExCo and Board. The successful applicant will take on a challenging, exciting and influential new role requiring strong managerial, team working, networking and communication skills. Experience of working in UKStratCom (or its predecessor Joint Forces Command) either in the Command Headquarters or in one of its constituent HLB areas is essential. Experience of Business Model, Operating Model or Functional Design is highly desirable; as is experience of programme and / or change management. Responsibilities: 1.Assist OF5 AH with the establishment and management of a core and virtual team (mil, CS and contractors) from UKStratCom’s HLBs and critical HQ functions to support (and red team) the design, development and, if time permits, implantation of a revised operating model for the Command. 2.Support and sustain the daily interactions in the crucial link between the operating model review team and the Directorate of Operational Policy in Head Office to ensure the design and development of a revised operating model for the Command is aligned with Head Office direction and guidance as set out in the Defence Operating Model. 3.Build strong desk level relationships between the UKStratCom operating model review team and other change programmes / transformational activity underway within the Command and Defence more broadly (including the Multi Domain Integration Change Programme, the Head Office Review, Corporate Services Modernisation, Finance Functional Leadership, and Integrated C2 Architecture) to ensure coherence and manage dependencies. 4.Be prepared to hand over to a follow on implementation team. Pre Appt/Deployment Trg: Nil. Domestic Considerations: •A blended office (NWD) and home working routine with the flexibility to attend other locations when required. Access to Secret (likely to be minimal) will require travel to NWD. •Up to 35 NOOB are a requirement for this post."
Should have experience in HQ JFC / UKStratcom or the HQ elements of its HLBs.
Experience of Business Model, Operating Model or Functional Design is highly desirable; as is experience of programme and / or change management.
