The Officer Commanding (OC) / Company Commander for B Company is responsible for commanding the Rifle Company, ensuring is personnel and equipment remain trained and prepared for operations at the readiness levels set by the 20th Armoured Brigade Combat Team. The responsibilities include: 

1. Command the Company ensuring all personnel and equipment is trained and prepared for warfighting tasks in line with Army Field Manual 5B Mech & Lt Inf Subunit Tactics.
2. Ensure the correct management of all personnel in the company, with a thorough knowledge of their strengths, weaknesses, welfare, medical, qualifications and reporting to ensure all personnel are correctly employed and reach their maximum potential. 
3. Oversee all aspects of the administration of the company and liaise with the FTRS staff as appropriate.
4. Oversee the management of Company funds and long term forecasting.
5. Oversee the production and execution of the company recruiting programme and provide guidance where required.

Selected for promotion to Major.
Intermediate Command and Staff College (Land Reserves), Platoon Commanders Battle Course (Reserve), Sub-Unit Commanders Management Course (SUCMC).
A Regimental Appointment Board scheduled for 26 Apr 23 will consider an applicant’s last 3 annual appraisals and the CV and PPP submitted. The CO may wish to interview candidates prior to the RAB.

45 RSDs+ for role and command responsibilities. The applicant will be expected to attend Tue evening training in their Army Reserve Centre, approximately 1 weekend per month and a 2 week annual continuation training exercise or course within the training year. Applicants are required to maintain currency in their Individual Training Requirements (ITRs). Applicants will be expected to visit the Company outstations (Aylesbury and High Wycombe) at least every 3 months to supervise personnel.

Candidates who have been out of regular or reserve service for more than 5 years may be considered for this appointment. Prior approval must be sought from the relevant Professions Advisor to confirm current and past experience prior to being invited to interview. Personnel currently serving in the Regular Army should be mindful of the current Notice To Terminate and Early Release policy for their respective rank and profession and ensure this is compatible with the post proposed start date, prior to applying. Personnel taking this appointment from other Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) should consider the impact on any accrued entitlements, such as leave, resettlement, pay etc and should seek specialist guidance where required as certain entitlements are TCoS specific and may not be retained or transferred on transition between TCoS.

In accordance with the Flexible Working (FW) Policy, Reserve personnel can request FW arrangements with their line manager. Any immediate FW requirements should be agreed with the line management at the interview stage. By default this role will come with a laptop and IT systems to allow personnel to manage their work remotely.
