Vacancy detail

NAVY CADETS COMBINED CADET FORCE (ROYAL NAVY-ROYAL MARINES) WO (TRAINING) - FTRS (LC)

A great opportunity has arisen for a WO1/WO2 (ANY) (rank-ranged OR8 - OR9) from either the Royal Navy or Royal Marines to join the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) RN/RM team in the newly created WO (TRAINING) position. This is an exciting new role, based currently in the CCF HQ, HMNB Portsmouth on a FTRS (Limited Commitment).

As the WO TRAINING, you are responsible for supporting CCF RN/RM SO2 (Executive Officer/Training) and the Senior Management Team, principally with developing further the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) RN/RM Training Programme, but also supporting wider Cadet initiatives, developing an offer which is modern, current and exciting.

In pursuit of this, you will liaise with the HQ leads of Boating, Adventure Training and Training Safety to assure the safe conduct of training. In addition, you will also conduct 1st Party Assurance through visits to training activities and locations. In tandem you will conduct Assurance on RN AI and RM YT, continually reviewing the content of the AI/YT Training Package and AI/YT Handbook. Working with the RN Area Instructors (RN AI)/ RM Youth Team (RM YT), you will identify failing Sections and develop a Recovery Plan in tandem with WO Support’s CCF RN/RM Risk Management process. Where appropriate, you should also proactively seek other opportunities from within the RN/RM which will add value to the Cadet Experience, and which will support the Cadets in gaining a wider understanding and appreciation of the RN.

This is a dynamic and intensely rewarding job - a vital role, working in support of young people to deliver the CCF Cadet Experience: providing a challenging and stimulating ‘Cadet Experience’ within schools that develops and inspires young people through the ethos and standards of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. Ideally you will be motivated and committed to supporting young people, proactive and able to work both independently and at pace. Any necessary training will be given. Full details can be found in the Terms of Reference.
