Vacancy detail

Subject to formal establishment, a vacancy will arise for a OF3 to serve as SO2 DRACL at JFD, Defence Academy, Shrivenham on FTRS HC Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 Jul 2022.

Unit Role:  DRACL is the proponent, on behalf of ACDS (MS and GE), for the Defence Culture and Language (C&L) capability.

Position Role:  Act as COS DRACL, coordinating team activity for SO1 DRACL and translating the SO1’s intent into output

Responsibilities:

1. Support the C&L Governance structure, with DRACL acting as the TRA’s Agent for foreign language, English and cultural capabilities in Defence

2. Develop Defence C&L policy.

3. Provide SME advice on Learning Development and Language matters.

4. Coordinate TRA DSAT activity, including requirement setting, assessment, evaluation and assurance

5. Design and delivery of MOD language assessments; liaison with contractor.

6. Foreign language financial awards – policy and casework.

7. Liaison with C&L stakeholders across Defence, UK Government and internationally (including NATO).

8. Line manager for three WOs.  

Addition post information:

    Must be an OF3 of any specialisation. OF2 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent OJAR will be considered.

    Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

    ICSC (L)

    Staff training.

    Project Management would be highly beneficial for this role.

    Policy officer for an entire capability; focus on training, education and assessment.

    Previous Defence Language experience/background - SLP2 min.

    This is a UK staff job with policy responsibility that allows for off-site and remote working; some international (NATO BILC) travel; routinely subject to trawls.

    SLA may be available at JFD dependent on availability on an entitled rate for FTRS(HC).
