HQ UK Strategic Command is looking for an OF3 to support its Force Generation Team (FGen). This is a superb opportunity to fill a short term (6 Months) ADC Contract with up to 120 days available for an immediate start.

Candidates will enjoy working in a small team helping UK Defence deliver on its diverse and expanding world-wide commitments through the effective force sensing, selection and activation of candidates.

Applicants must be able to work remotely and/or residentially. The Force Generation Team has the flexibility and freedom to deliver the Force Generation function as it sees fit, which means it is very likely able to incorporate the successful applicant’s work/life needs into the Team’s ways of working.

Responsibilities.

  • Role responsibilities (with the support and guidance of the Team Leader) include, but are not limited to:
    • Acting as one of UKStratCom’s Liaison Officers to the Defence Single Tasking Authority (DSTA) in MOD Main Building and single Service workforce organisations; and staffing point of contact for all external requests for augmentation placed on UKStratCom by SPO or sS, co-ordinating returns as required.
    • Generating operational staff work supporting the deployment of UKStratCom personnel as directed by DSTA.
    • Overseeing and maintaining DSTA-endorsed Crisis Augmentation Lists (CAL), ensuring requirements are appropriately understood and generated at readiness.
    • Leading UKStratCom-generated augmentation requests to sS providing due-diligence and scrutiny checks prior to release of submission.
    • Acting as focal point for all internal augmentation requests between UKStratCom HLBs.
    • Liaise with Standing Joint Command (SJC) and DSTA to monitor apportioned UK Ops augmentation demands.
    • Using knowledge, skills, and experience to provide support to the wider FGen team and implement continuous improvement measures cross the team to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Supporting, and deputising for the SO1 FGen as required.

Must be an OF3 of any specialisation. OF2 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent OJAR will be considered.

OF4 applicants, if successful, will only be paid as and wear the rank of OF3.

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Share out of hours duties (few and far between but subject to demand for augmentation)

Possess an in-date Security Clearance (SC).

Operational Experience.

Staff – HQ/Bde J3/5/7 Experience.

HR, WF management, Force Generation (trawls) experience.

Attend meetings in the Ministry of Defence (no more than once a week).

Ability to visit HLBs (no more than once a month).

Possess an in date Developed Vetting (DV).

TaCoS must be established first. Applicants will undergo an initial eligibility sift. Successful applicants will have their details forwarded to the Post Sponsor to arrange interviews. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Following interviews; the successful applicant will be informed that they are the Preferred Candidate with details being sent to the appropriate Reserves Career Management Cell who will continue the recruitment process. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Once the recruitment process is complete then the preferred candidate will be invited to take up the appointment.

Commitment length will be 6 months.

The FGen team is based at Northwood HQ but practices remote working.  Northwood underground station is a 15-minutes walk, and Moor Park underground station further away but supported by a shuttle service for Northwood staff.
