PREAMBLE

The Royal Navy (RN) recruiting organisation, under Head of Recruitment and Attraction (Hd R&A), is responsible, to Director, People & Training (Dir. P&T) for the delivery of the RN/RM recruitment and assessment pipeline. The Specialist Attract Teams (SATs) undertake a valuable role in supporting the attraction of new candidates and maintain interest of candidates "in flight". They are pivotal in Improving inflow in Pinch Point and Defence Pinch Point Branches. Each SAT manages their own recruiting activity based on Head R&A recruiting priorities as determined in the R&A Recruiting Priority Group. 

The Logistics SAT is responsible for the creation and implementation of the teams the in-year Recruiting Plan, providing logistics branch specific advice and liaison with R&A Policy and Plans department and delivering logistics specific SME advice on all career focused marketing material to the R&A Marketing Department.

The Logistics SAT are Hd R&A’s primary asset within the organisation to deliver targeted logistics focused national and local delivered, recruiting engagement for the RN.  

The Attract Recruit Warrant Officer Logistics (ARWOL) is to act as the focal point for the planning and delivery of all recruiting engagement and careers activities in educational, community and youth group venues across their area. 

The ARWOL is to develop innovative recruiting engagement programmes for delivery to the target audiences as directed by SO1 Attract. Engagement events are to be delivered both Face to Face (F2F) and by utilising all digital channels as authorised by the Service. The recruiting engagement programmes will include a range of packages including Food and Nutrition and Career focussed sessions, with the ultimate aim to increase inflow numbers to all streams of the RN logistics branch. 

Compliance with the recruitment engagement strategy is paramount in achieving the targets set. 


PURPOSES

Primary Purpose.  

Establish and deliver a coherent a targeted and bespoke outreach programme for the 
Hd R&A that raises awareness of the logistics branches to a permissive recruiting audience within the RN. 

Establish, assure and deliver a robust Logs SAT Candidate Relationship Management 
(CRM) programme where required and data insight driven to convert eligible logistics EOI enquiries to applicants. 

Create a robust network and develop strong relationships with Key Educational Staff, 
Catering Schools and Colleges, Catering Industry Leaders and Community and Youth Organisations to offer logistics career focussed events/themed packages that can be delivered both F2F and through authorised digital channels.

Secondary Purposes.  

Liaise and co-ordinate with other Hd R&A stakeholders through attendance at Attract Activity Co-ordination planning meetings to ensure coherent and most appropriate assets are pooled to achieve the R&A Strategy Aim.

Assist R&A Recruit Force (RF) staff in their conversion of Logistics applicants through managed and targeted CRM to increase inflow figures.

Explore the Logistics recruiting market to identify potential initiatives to enhance the logistics recruiting offer.

Observe and assure the logistics career focussed events/themed packages to ensure they are accurate and relevant to the audience they are delivered to and ensure the logistics delivery terms are appropriately resourced both in workforce and in outreach materials.

Update and maintain Logs team ToR’s as directed by SO2 Attract & Recruit Coherence

Carry out other taskings as directed by SO1 Attract.

TASKS

The ARWOL is tasked to:

Primary Tasks:

Create a sustained, consistent, and coordinated programme of logistics focussed recruiting outreach and engagement activity. 

Assure delivery of SAT teams at recruiting events and attend food festivals and large scale catering recruiting fairs.

Act as SME advisor at contract meetings advising on VFM of proposed events and whether the event is reaching the target demographics.

Create a robust CRM process that converts individuals who have expressed on interest in join the logistics branch to firstly and applicant and then support them through to entrant.

Lead the Logs SAT team to develop creative and innovative methods of inspiring individuals to join the logistics branch within the the RN.

Operate within the assigned budget ensuring full compliance with all corporate governance guidance and MOD financial regulations and maintain records for audit when required.

Contribute data insights and SME advice at SO1 Attract led quarterly deep dive on logistic SAT’s activities to measure effectiveness of activity branch against inflow stats.

Attend key meetings as required and directed.
 
Provide LM responsibilities for Logs Recruiting Team personnel.
       
Secondary Tasks:
    
Co-ordinate the maintenance of records of Logs SAT activity on the Activity Tracker, to appropriately evaluate the impact of outreach delivered. 

Act as cardholder for both ePC and GPC purchases, maintaining records for Audit purposes.

Respond to other tasking as directed by SO2 Attract & Recruit Coherence. 


Must be an OR8-9 of RN Logistics ANY specialisation.

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Ex-Regular Reserves of an equivalent rank from sister services may apply, however will have to transfer to the RFR and conduct a period of Marinisation if they are selected as the preferred candidate.

Applicants will undergo an initial eligibility sift. Successful applicants will have their details forwarded to the Post Sponsor to arrange interviews. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Following interviews; the successful applicant will be informed that they are the Preferred Candidate with details being sent to the CM RES FTRS Cell who will continue the recruitment process. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Once the recruitment process is complete then the Preferred Candidate will be invited to take up FTRS.

The start date is the anticipated one however, applicants should be aware a number of factors will potentially impact on this including the completion of pre-employment checks, medical category confirmation and the award of a Security Clearance. The start date could therefore be adjusted as appropriate – earlier for a fully qualified person with their and the employers agreement, or later if approvals cannot be immediately.

INITIAL COMMITMENT LENGTH WILL BE 24 MONTHS WITH POTENTIAL TO EXTEND

NB: Where the Anticipated Start date has already passed, the start date will be ASAP


Eligibility for FTRS/ADC

Any member of the Maritime Volunteer Reserves (RNR, RMR) or the Royal Fleet Reserves (RFR) (Ex-Regular Reserve) may volunteer to undertake a period of FTRS/ADC. Ex-Regular personnel whose RFR liability has run out may be re-instated to take up FTRS/ADC.

Applicants undertaking a period of FTRS/ADC must be suitably qualified by rank, specialisation, qualifications and experience to fill the posts for which they apply. 

Applicants must also be medically fit to fulfil the duties which their Commitment will require them to undertake. Personnel who have been discharged P8 permanently unsuitable Naval Service through the MBOS and Employability Board will not be considered.
