Domestic Considerations: FTRS HC uniformed post, some travel and occasional overnight duty will be required.  Successful applicant will need to reside within 30 minutes of the Post locations / region as they will be the primary key holder and POC with Dorset Innovation Park Management (Dorset Council) and security staff.. The nature of the post work does not easily allow for routine flexible / hybrid working.
                                                                                                                                      Position Role:  To be the Army SO1 responsible for coherence, enablement, funding, sustainment and operational management of the Defence BattleLab facility in Dorset on behalf of Defence.  This post is likely to fold in Aug 24 as the Army Operating Model matures.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                  1. As the Executive Officer (de facto second in command) to AH Battlelab (the Defence Battlelab lead), support delivery of the Battlelab project from IOC to FOC to maximise the opportunities of the facility.
2. Coordinate Army Research Innovation & Experimentation Laboratory (ARIEL) activities and wider pan-Army opportunities relevant to the BattleLab. 
3. Army lead representative of the BattleLab governance team alongside DLEP, Dorset County Council, UKStratCom, Royal Navy & MOD commercial. 
4. Engage with industry to co-ordinate pan-Defence opportunities for collaboration and wider facilitation of the BattleLab network.  
5. Lead and line manage the Army BattleLab team of 1 x SO2, 1 x WO2 and 1 x C2 Commercial. 
6. Enable wider MOD stakeholders and OGDs to promote and strengthen Army links across wider Public Sector innovation activity.
7. Support the D Futures Interoperability team in linking into the wider network of European and US ‘BattleLab’ concepts.
8. Defence Battlelab lead for the NATO DIANA project
Operational experience, MOD/Army HQ Staff experience
