Vacancy detail

Subject to formal establishment, a vacancy will arise for an OF4 to serve as DE&S Project Management at DE&S MOD Abbey Wood on FTRS (HC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 Jul 2023.

Unit Function    

To train the Joint Force of today and Optimise the Joint Force of Tomorrow


Position Role  

 To deliver semi-complex projects, multiple simple projects or complex control accounts addressing issues, or situations with limited supervision. To also lead projects across a range of business contexts. Inform acquisition strategy and align portfolio/projects to the organisational vision.

Responsibilities
1.    Responsible for leading, managing and developing multidisciplinary teams covering a range of subject areas within associated semi-complex projects, multiple simple projects or complex control accounts.
2.    Accountable for the delivery of their projects' outputs within the performance/cost/time envelope for a semi-complex project, multiple simple projects or complex control accounts.
3.    Responsible for ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient means of delivery, whilst mitigating risk and leveraging opportunities.
4.    Support an open, honest, no blame culture. Actively highlighting failures and shortfalls positively and drawing through LFE into the project or control account, advising on mitigation and engaging with OBI owner to mitigate wider occurrence.
5.    Responsible for embedding and adhering to all governance and policy and enable the required compliance throughout their team, ensure appropriate challenge and gain approval to deviate when necessary.
6.    Regularly meet the customer to understanding the objective, requirements, and the means of acceptance in line with the MoD's Operating Model and Defence Lines of Development.
7.    Deliver project requirements within the performance/cost/time envelope. Sustain and leverage value through the monitoring and management of contract performance against commitments (product and services) and meet our own obligations under the contract.
8.  Responsible for meeting budgets within all In-Year and longer-term accounting periods EPP, ESP and OpEx. Lead and ensure that the wider financial (and resource) profiles are driven from the activities in the project schedule and the WBS

Must be an OF4 of any specialisation. OF3 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent OJAR will be considered.

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Security Clearance (SC)

Experience of leading and managing a project management team delivering semi-complex projects.

Any of the following: APM PMQ/MSP/PRINCE2 or similar, relevant graduate qualification i.e. MSc (Project Management)
