Vacancy detail

Manage the L&D Hub, to include:

Act as Functional Manager to all L&D Hub personnel . Act as Line Manager to all relevant military L&D Hub personnel.

Manage all L&D Hub facilities, including at the Waterfront, and activity to ensure learning opportunities are maximised within existing resources.

Implement relevant local policies and L&D policies IAW BR3.

Produce the L&D Hub Self Assessment Report and Development Plan.

Coordinate, manage and approve any administrative functions, ensuring timely and accurate returns, including the monthly statistics returns to LDO HQ.

Conduct internal assurance, including undertaking observations of all staff. Manage and coordinate activity for external assurance processes.

Act as Examinations Officer.

Monitor and report on contracts operating within the AOR on behalf of Cdr LDO.

Deliver a continuous improvement culture within the region, including chairing regular L&D Hub and regional meetings.

Participate in LDO OIC bi-annual meetings, CPD (regional and national) and share best practice across the organisation.

Promote the L&D Hub, to include:

Oversee and encourage use of all facilities and services, as detailed in the L&D Hub Charter.

Coordinate and promote all aspects of L&D services, including information on local education, training and development facilities and opportunities.

Actively develop and implement L&D opportunities with regional organisations.

Liaise with regional employers to facilitate the awareness of employment opportunities for Service leavers.

Carry out the role of Learning Development Adviser (LDA), iaw the LDA ToRs, to include:

Provide advice and guidance on learning, development, study skills, Functional Skills, Specific Learning Disabilities (SpLD), resettlement and training, both to individuals and to Units.

Support Units as requested to develop their Learning and Development Plans.

Act as approving officer for SLC, ELC and Travel Claims.

Carry out the role of LDO East Regional lead, to include:

Lead POC for all L&D Hubs within AOR, including HMS SULTAN, HMS COLLINGWOOD, HMS EXCELLENT, HAMWORTHY BARRACKS, RNAS YEOVILTON for additional support, training or guidance.

Liaise with Babcock Flagship Ltd management for personnel updates and recruitment progress where required

Share best practice amongst AOR in order to ensure acitivies and training opportunities are maximised for the region.

Carry out any other relevant tasks as directed by Cdr LDO and LDO Delivery.

Must be a serving Regular or Maritime Reserve  OF2-OF3  or Ex-Regular OF2-OF3   of  ENG TM  specialisation.

Excellent communication/customer service skills.

Good IT background/aptitude in MS Office suite of applications.

Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

Full driving license.

Experience working within a training or education environment.

Experience in conducting internal assurance.

Civilian Management Training (Managing Civilian Staff - An Overview; Introduction to HRMS; Discipline and Restoring Efficiency; Selection Interviewing; H&S For Line Managers; Employment Law for Line Managers; Performance Management for Line Managers).

Education and Resettlement Officer (ERO) Course.

Level 5 Coaching Qualification.

There is a requirement for the post holder to visit HMS COLLINGWOOD, HMS SULTAN, HAMWORTHY BARRACKS, RNAS YEOVILTON and HMS EXCELLENT in their role as regional lead.

Applicants will undergo an initial eligibility sift. Successful applicants will have their details forwarded to the Post Sponsor to arrange interviews. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Following interviews; the successful applicant will be informed that they are the Preferred Candidate with details being sent to the CM RES FTRS Cell who will continue the recruitment process. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Once the recruitment process is complete then the Preferred Candidate will be invited to take up FTRS.


INITIAL COMMITMENT LENGTH WILL BE 12 MONTHS WITH POTENTIAL TO EXTEND

NB: Where the Anticipated Start date has already passed, the start date will be ASAP


Eligibility for FTRS/ADC

Any member of the Maritime Volunteer Reserves (RNR, RMR) or the Royal Fleet Reserves (RFR) (Ex-Regular Reserve) may volunteer to undertake a period of FTRS/ADC. Ex-Regular personnel whose RFR liability has run out may be re-instated to take up FTRS/ADC.

Applicants undertaking a period of FTRS/ADC must be suitably qualified by rank/rate, specialisation, qualifications and experience to fill the posts for which they apply. Applications will be accepted from reservists who hold one rank/rate or more above or one rank/rate only below the advertised rank. Applicants one rank below may be employed in the acting higher rank (excluding the advertised Rank of WO2 or WO1) if they are suitable, qualified and meet current promotion regulations in all respects. Applicants prepared to serve in a position at a lower rank/rate then the rank/rate worn will be appropriate to that of the position. Exceptions will not normally be considered.

Applicants must also be medically fit to fulfil the duties which their Commitment will require them to undertake. Personnel who have been discharged through the MBOS and Employability Board will not be considered.
