Vacancy detail

Domestic Consideration: FTRS(HC) post, therefore no entitlement to service accommodation.                                                                                 Unit role: Responsible for policy for reserve Forces and cadets.                                                                                  Position role: Contribute to developing and dissemination of Tri-Service cadet policy.                                                                                                   Responsibilities:                                                                                            1. Develop and maintain tri-Service cadet policy and provide policy direction to the single-Service Cadet Force headquarters.
2. Act as subject matter expert for tri-Service cadet issues.
3. React to new legislation that might impact on cadet activity, particularly regarding safety and safeguarding of children.
4. Act as secretary to meetings (including the 1-Star Youth & Cadet Steering Group and the Cadet Safeguarding Working Group.
5. Provide timely responses and contributions on cadet issues to Ministers and senior officers in the form of briefs, Parliamentary questions, and ministerial correspondence; and contribute to responses to FOI requests.
6. Provide support to bespoke cadet-related projects and events, and to Defence Engagement activities involving the Cadet Forces.
7. Maintain the register of Cadet Forces' authorised demanders of Defence Identity Cards.
8. Manage ‘Body of Persons Approvals’ (BoPA) in respect of Child Performance Licensing for the Cadet Forces.
9. Act as the subject matter expert on Cadet Forces Honours, Decorations and Awards, and for coordinating Cadet Forces’ participation in National ceremonial events.
10. Deputise for Cadets SO1 Chief of Staff.
Staff experience
Previous MOD experience.      Current or previous experience as a uniformed Cadet Force Adult Volunteer or as a member of a Cadet Training Team.
