This Training Officer Volunteer Reserve position in a Nationally Recruited Unit commands the Training Delivery Team.

The successful candidate will be expected to attend 88x RSDs per year (44x RSDs would be the absolute minimum). There will be opportunities to attend in excess of 100 should you wish to do so.

43 HQ & Sp Sqn RE is an Indep Sqn that provides G1-9 support to 4x Hybrid Units and 1x Reserve Unit. This position only supports Reserve Trg. The total Reserve Workforce Requirement for these Units is 470 personnel.

As Training Officer you will:

  • Support the planning and delivery of Infra Sp Units STA weekends within 170 (Infra Sp) Engr Gp.
  • Identify and support the unit Course Trained Personnel database and ensure the unit has at least the minimum number of qualified Instructors.
  • Deputise for the Trg Maj when required.
  • Arrange Individual training courses and support RE Army Reserve Courses and ATXs.
  • Ensure all Reserves are given opportunities to train by timely event notification and notifying those with Trg shortfalls.
  • Provide MS for all Trg Del Team members and Co-ord external course requests,fully prepare the Reservist to attend such courses.
  • Promote an inclusive culture within area of responsibility, working to increase understanding and engagement through education and initiative.

Range Qualified at appropriate level to act as Senior Planning Officer for live and blank firing training (or willing to attend courses to gain qualifications)

Experience in the Trg environment.

Good management skills to Co- ordinate the Trg Delivery Team, outside and external Instructors from other Teams and Units as required.

Good interpersonal skills in order to liaise with many departments and agency in the Trg and Supt environments.

Good planning skills and be able to forecast ahead as per current Trg cycles.

Instructor qualifications in Mil Skills.

Instructor qualifications in Adventure Trg.

Selection will be made by Unit Board.

Board will consider: PPP; Military CV; and service history.
