Vacancy detail

A Promotion Selection Board (PSB) will be held at 505 Sqn, RAF St Mawgan, on Wed 16 Nov 22 for the purpose of selecting RAF Reserve/Ex Regular[1] personnel for promotion to fill Cpl Logistics (Driver) PTVR vacancies within the Squadron.

[1] Ex Regular RAF personnel (left within 2 years) can apply for promotion.  If left regular service over 2 years or applicant served in Army or Navy advice is to be sought from DACOS Reserves staff in conjunction with the Intelligence Reserves Trade Warrant Officer before inviting individual to interview.

For consideration for promotion/appointment to Cpl rank, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Have attained the rank of substantive AS1 and have met any minimum qualifying period in that rank (3 years’ seniority as at the date of the PSB), as set or required by HQ Air.[1]

Have passed any prescribed trade examinations and any other conversion/further training courses required or set by the competent authority.

Have a current recommendation for promotion to fill an established vacancy in the rank of Cpl.

[1] However, those without seniority, in receipt of a High or Exceptional for 2 ranks up on their last SJAR and an exceptional promotion recommendation, may be read and scored at pre-board and if deemed competitive, can be presented to the PSB.  The seniority date is calculated as at the end date of the PSB.  Iaw JSP 757 Part 2 Vol 4 para 1.11, if an individual is awarded an exceptional recommendation for promotion, then the 3rd RO needs to be satisfied that there is enough evidence in the appraisal to justify it.

An Appointment Board will carry out a rigorous selection process for the posts, based principally on an applicant’s last 3 Appraisal Reports.

An electronic letter of application from suitably qualified personnel supported from their Chain of Command, including authority to extract copies of their last 3 appraisals is required no later than Fri 07 Oct 22 and should be emailed to:

Sgt Melanie Findler, SNCO HR/Recruiting

Melanie.Findler100@mod.gov.uk

Telephone enquiries in respect of these vacancies should be made to the Sqn Executive Officer, Flt Lt Chris ‘Snips’ Barber, via 01637 857351 or SKYPE 0300 1522664.

This opportunity is closed to applications.
