Vacancy detail

Subject to formal establishment a vacancy has will arise for a OF3 to serve as SO2 Cyber Development in the Defence Cyber School of the Defence Academy (Def Ac) Shrivenham, Oxfordshire. The post is an FTRS(HC) position, with a target start date of June 2022. The post is open to suitable applicants from ANY Profession, however preference will be given to those with a strong Training Delivery background.

The Unit role is to maximise Defence’s ability to meet the challenges of future operations by bringing science and technology to life through education and training. The role of SO2 Cyber Dev is to:

  1. Work with DCS Line Management, TRA and other stakeholders as required to support the design, development, delivery and assurance of MOD Cyber Training and Education courses and associated products.
  2. Act as the Learning, Development and Assurance Lead for DCS, ensuring the DCS course portfolio's compliance with JSP822 and the DSAT process; attend relevant meetings on behalf of DCS.
  3. Lead DCS compliance with Defence Academy course authorisation processes and documentation, ensuring new and existing courses are fully adopted within the DefAc PAMS system and authorised for delivery with supporting documentation in place.
  4. Lead the review and ongoing maintenance of the DCS external information portals (intranet, internet, Teams etc) to ensure accurate and up to date information is available to stakeholders and customers.
  5. Lead the Cyber CEB Working Group and coordinate input to appropriate CEB(s).
  6. Deputise for, and assist, SO1 Cyber and line management chain with additional cyber related activities as required.
  7. Maintain cyber, trg and education currency through regular self-study, education and training.
  8. Undertake all mandatory training, including SHEF, D&I and the DefAc Induction Programme as required. Creating and maintaining a learning environment that is compliant with ED&I Service policy.
  1. Completed ICSC(A) or IOD4&5 (or on appointment if promoted on appointment).
  2. Able to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
  3. Experience of working within a DSAT role with TRA/TDA or TP
  1. DTc/DTS/DTM – can be completed in role if not already held
  2. Previous Subunit Command experience

Flexible Working Arrangements. In accordance with the Flexible Working (FW) Policy, Reserves personnel are able to request FW arrangements with their line manager.  Any immediate FW requirements should be agreed with the line management at the interview stage.

Accommodation. Personnel serving FTRS are eligible to occupy Single Living Accommodation (SLA), on a case by case basis if available, at entitled rates, if serving within the JFD.
