This is superb opportunity to fill a 24-month role on a FTRS (LC) contract as the SO2 Unified Career Management Policy. The UCM HUMINT Policy SO2 is the focal point for designing and writing the policy backbone for UCM HUMINT. You will work as part of a dynamic Defence Intelligence HUMINT team based at Chicksands. The post holder will be required to regularly travel to locations including Chicksands, RAF Wyton, Northwood, MOD Main Building and principal HQ locations for the sS. Here they will visit and work with other DI and UKStratCom personnel, stakeholders, and customers, sometimes being required to stay multiple nights away from home (but within the limitations of an LC contract).  Precise working days and hours would be agreed between the individual and the CoC.

This policy work has been identified as sitting on the critical path for project delivery and all other project work strands are dependent on completion of this policy work. The SO2 Policy will primarily be responsible for drafting JSP755 Pt 2 Vol 3 (UCM HUMINT) which will form the basis for amendments to the Terms and Conditions of Service (TACOS) for SP who will be on-ramping into the UCM HUMINT cadre.

Responsibilities

The role includes, although is not limited to:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain UCM HUMINT Policy, liaising with sS as required, and acting as the POC for all UCM HUMINT Policy enquiries.
  • SME for sS and Centre interaction for all UCM policy and process matters, including policy development, ensuring compliance and coherence.
  • Liaise with TLBs and Cap owners to understand impact of wider CM policy on UCM, enable activity to mitigate risks and issues.
  • Ensure effective communications processes to enable timely circulation of policy and process changes to all stakeholders including sS, CMs and Cap areas.
  • Assist in the production of Promotion Quotas.
  • Use knowledge, skills, and experience to provide support to the wider UCM HUMINT team as required.

 

  • Deputise for the UCM HUMINT Project Lead in their absence.

 

Accountability

SO2 UCM Policy (HUMINT) is directly accountable to CO DHU (OF4). The Second Reporting Officer is Hd HUMINT (OF5).

Authority

The SO2 UCM Policy (HUMINT) position requires working harmoniously in a joint environment and to be able to seamlessly liaise successfully across the 3 Services as well as wide range of stakeholders at all levels.

This staff officer will regularly brief to OF5 and beyond.

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Must possess in-date SC. OF2 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent OJAR will be considered.

Policy or Career Management background is essential.




Intelligence and HUMINT background would be desirable. 

DV clearance desirable.
