Unit Role:  To deliver specified logistic training and training support in order to sustain national Defence capability.

Position Role:  Senior Instructor.  Focal point for all Royal Navy and Royal Marine Supply Chain training within the Defence School of Logistics and Administration.

Responsibilities:

1. To plan, prepare and coordinate delivery of all Royal Navy Division courses in accordance with the SOTR/SOTT.

2. Command, manage, appraise and develop all military staff within the Royal Navy Division.

3. Undertake a range of instructional duties for both internal and external courses as required but specifically for all Reserve courses.

4. Supervise training and monitor standards to ensure DSAT/Ofsted compliance.

5. To represent the RN/RM position during Student Review Boards (SRB), advising the CoC of any requirement for the award of RN Tiered Warnings and ensuring these are administered iaw BR3 at the appropriate signatory level.

6. Maintain close liaison with the RN and RM Branch Managers and TRAs.

7. Liaise with the Fleet Logistic Officers team providing advice on all N4 training issues and attend external mtgs as and when required.

8. Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd Reporting officer function for members of RN Div.

9. Act as Divisional Officer for the WO1 in RN Supply Div.

10. Liaise with OC Maritime Command Squadron for the effective delivery of N4 training to RN and RFA Logistics Officers.

11. Liaise with DACOS Logs RFA to ensure all RFA training requirements are considered provide SME input as required.

12. Liaise with InVal and ExVal teams at DCLPA and HRTSG providing input as required.

13. To support the wider wing through delivery of advice and assistance as an EDA.

14. To attend JLOC as directing staff as required.

15. To undertake any additional roles required by the CI

Must be an OF2-OF3 of LOGISTICS specialisation. OF1 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent OJAR will be considered.  OF4 applicants, if successful, will only be paid as and wear the rank of OF3.

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Military Quals:   ILOC/PLCC or FLS CMD/ASLS  /DSAT(M) Cse/DTtT/ICSC   (DSAT(M) Cse within first 3 months, and ASLS Staff Cs)

Experience and knowledge of the unit J4 environment, JSC and its associated environments and regulation would benefit the incumbent in understanding the wide range of G4 responsibilities.

Experience and knowledge of the unit J4/N4 environment, JSC and its associated environments and regulation would benefit the incumbent in understanding the responsibilities.

Applicants will undergo an initial eligibility sift. Successful applicants will have their details forwarded to the Post Sponsor to arrange interviews. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Following interviews; the successful applicant will be informed that they are the Preferred Candidate with details being sent to the CM RES FTRS Cell who will continue the recruitment process. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Once the recruitment process is complete then the Preferred Candidate will be invited to take up FTRS.


INITIAL COMMITMENT LENGTH WILL BE 24 MONTHS WITH POTENTIAL TO EXTEND

Eligibility for FTRS/ADC

Any member of the Maritime Volunteer Reserves (RNR, RMR) or the Royal Fleet Reserves (RFR) (Ex-Regular Reserve) may volunteer to undertake a period of FTRS/ADC. Ex-Regular personnel whose RFR liability has run out may be re-instated to take up FTRS/ADC.

Applicants undertaking a period of FTRS/ADC must be suitably qualified by rank, specialisation, qualifications and experience to fill the posts for which they apply. Applications will be accepted from reservists who hold one rank or more above or one rank only below the advertised rank. Applicants one rank below may be employed in the acting higher rank if they are suitable, qualified and meet current promotion regulations in all respects. Applicants prepared to serve in a position at a lower rank then the rank worn will be appropriate to that of the position. Exceptions will not normally be considered.

Applicants must also be medically fit to fulfil the duties which their Commitment will require them to undertake. Personnel who have been discharged P8 permanently unsuitable Naval Service through the MBOS and Employability Board will not be considered.
