Position Role: Principal SO1 responsible for planning and exploiting Home Command / SJC(UK) Comms, Media & Engagement  activities 

Responsibilities:

  1. Act as principal military CME advisor to Comd and COS Home Command / SJC(UK).
  2. Promote awareness of the Army Brand Circle to ensure it is applied as the principle for all communication plans across the command.
  3. Manage and maintain primary HQ products to communicate the Home Command purpose, functions, responsibilities and in-flight work.
  4. Implement DDC and IC&E direction relating to CME activities, ensuring it is applied nationally and regionally through the 2* formations.
  5. As required, provide the CME lead in SJC(UK) for Comd and COS SJC(UK).
  6. Collect, collate, cohere and promote positive proactive Home Command stories to I,C&E and DDC for wider amplification, utilising the Home Command Comms Grid system. 
  7. Prepare for rapid reaction to emerging negative news stories to support and protect the Army’s reputation, utilising the Home Command Comms Grid system. 
  8. Build relationships with other departments across Defence, wider Government, and appropriate external agencies to support both Home Command and SJC(UK) outputs. 
  9. Lead the fortnightly Home Command Comms Coord and attend other internal and external CME meetings as required to ensure that the Home Command view is appropriately represented.
  10. Monitor and oversee the running of the Home Command Army Engagement Website, ensuring all CME stakeholders are providing suitable content and using the site as a means of external promotion to gatekeepers, schools, industry and OGDs

Previous experience of SJC(UK) is a distinct advantage

Experienced, diplomatic staff officer, ideally with previous experience in 1-4* HQs dealing with CME.
