Vacancy detail

1. Team Leader for EC2SPHD (Defence AI/ML innovation accelerator programme) on behalf of Director Defence Innovation, representing the Army TLB SRO and PD.  
2. Working to direction from DIU/D INFO; set, execute and deliver programme objectives and benefits, overseeing supporting technical development activity, contracting, commercial and procurement requirements.   
3. Act as primary interface with the Defence AI Centre, FLC’s, stakeholders, Users, industry & academia to ensure EC2SPHD coherence with Defence and sS AI and C2 programmes and identify AI DEVSECOPS opportunities.
4. Attend relevant AI/C2 conferences, seminars, forums and exercises as agreed with the SRO, which will include requirements to brief at Snr level and participate in TTX.  
5. Work closely with Dstl, and through them IRC, TCCP, NATO, FVEY for engagement and horizon scanning to understand future AI technology developments, opportunities, and integration potential. 
6. Direct AI Trials, Test and Reference activity to address AI Technical, Ethical and Legal requirements.
8. Influence AI concepts development within Defence and Army Futures.

Information Technology background

Proficient verbal and written skills –  Will be expected to brief at high level and at external national and multi-national conferences. 

Must be able to engage competently and convincingly with SMEs both within and without Defence then distil and demystify a complex and fast-paced technology area so it is easily accessible to non-specialists.

MSc in relevant discipline an advantage.  Relevant Professional Accreditation with an industry body or having undertaken training provided through a recognised academic body an advantage.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic candidate to influence how Defence can integrate AI technologies to achieve operational advantage. The candidate does not have to possess a background in AI but must have the aptitude to learn and adapt to a fast-moving technology environment. They must be comfortable working in a diverse group of Subject Matter Experts and drawing upon their advice as required.

Requirement to be in Blandford full time is flexible, with option to work partially from Army HQ Andover and some WFH.
