Subject to formal establishment, Joint Boarding process and sS Policies a vacancy will arise for a OR9-OF2 to serve as SO3 Joint Personnel Recovery at IWC, RAF St Morgan on FTRs (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 Jul 26 (or earlier/later, subject to formal establishment and candidate status).
Unit Function:
The Integrated Warfare Centre’s (IWC) mission is to optimise and adapt the current integrated force, through concepts and warfare development, supporting UK and NATO joint commanders to achieve operational advantage over adversaries, across the continuum of competition.
Position Role:
Coordination of Personnel Recovery (PR) and Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Extraction (SERE) lessons learned as well as main interlocutor between Training Provider and Lead Command organisation.
Responsibilities:
1. Support SO2 JPR as the IWC Subject Matter Expert for SERE Training.
2. Maintain, coordinate and provide analysis on PR and SERE Lessons Learned to the TRA and Training Provider.
3. Support the PR and SERE Training Delivery Authority in the Design and Development of UK PR and SERE Training.
4. Provide SME support to develop Collective Training opportunities for PR and SERE, incl reintegration.
5. Represent the CSOC as the Lead Command at various national SERE meetings/events. (SERE WGs, CEBs etc.)
6. Represent the CSOC as the Lead Command at international SERE meetings/events. (PRSAR WG, MCDC etc.)
7. Supporting JPRA LO, EPRC LO and Reintegration Psychologist with SERE expertise.
8. Delivery support to the Training Provider in extremis by agreement with individual and 1RO.
Must be an OR9 - OF2 of XXXX specialisation. XXX applicants with a positive recommendation in their most recent annual OJAR/SJAR may be considered for the role and the award of Acting Higher Rank (AHR). It is stressed that whilst a single positive recommendation will make you eligible for consideration, your entire OJAR/SJAR dossier will be considered for AHR in line with the principles of BR3(1) Part 8 and approval is not guaranteed.’

Employer Comments:
The Mission of the Joint Force Development and Integration team is to identify and improve areas of weakness within the Joint Force in the immediate to medium term, in order to optimise Joint Operational and Tactical Effect now and in the future.
The SO3 PR provides PR/SERE advice within the JFDI team to support IWC as the Lead Command authority for the governance and capability development of SERE and PR. Responsible for providing IWC with SERE and PR advice, supporting the PR and SERE CEB processes, liaising with the Training Provider representing the Lead Command, supporting PJHQ with WarDev of SERE and reintegration, and coordinating lessons learned with respect to SERE.
This post requires a high-quality results-driven individual who has a fundamental understanding of the Personnel Recovery and SERE capabilities. A knowledge of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) is also desirable in understanding and prioritising education, training and Exercise activity for PR and SERE.
Other Information:
Regular Service Applicants. Personnel currently serving in the Regular Services should be mindful of the current Early Termination Minimum Waiting Time (MWT) for their respective Rank, Profession and ensure this MWT is compatible with the post sponsor’s proposed start date, prior to applying.
Admin Discharge. Subject to sS Policies candidates may be rejected.
Pension Issues. Personnel who qualify for a service pension should take financial advice from Defence Business Services (DBS) Pensions Department on the effect that undertaking reserve service has on their pension (details can be found on the JPA splash screen). Of particular note is reference to the ‘Effect of Re-employment’ on Commutation and, for those leaving on a ‘preserved’ pension, the Resettlement Grant.
Transition between TaCoS. Personnel taking this appointment from other TaCoS should consider the impact on any accrued entitlements, such as leave, resettlement etc and should seek specialist guidance where required as certain entitlements are TaCoS specific and may not be retained or transferred on transition between TaCoS.
Flexible Working Arrangements. In accordance with the Flexible Working (FW) Policy, Reserve personnel can request FW arrangements with their line manager. Any immediate FW requirements should be agreed with the line management at the interview stage.
Annual Training / Fitness / Medical / Dental. Subject to sS policies
Annual Salary and Leave. Pay will be in accordance with the pay scales published sS Regulations JSP 754. Leave entitlement is detailed in JSP 760.
Accommodation. Personnel serving on FTRS TaCoS are eligible to occupy Single Living Accommodation (SLA) if surplus accommodation is available, at entitled rates subject to sS policies.
