Vacancy detail

1. Responsible for the day to day running of the Sqn to include administration, pay (using CHURCHILL and RAPS), bonuses (to include C of E) and to monitor and allocate RSDs, ADC and ST as per RHQ polices. Administrate Reservists for mobilisations and deployments
2. BPT stand in, Assist and Advise the OC on the G1, G4 and EC aspects of his post.
3. Focal point for RHQ on site security, SHE&SD and estate and equipment matters, to be qualified as per sqn allocations.
4. Accountable forthe Recruitment processes using DRS, Mentoring and preparing Candidates for Training and CE.
5. Assume the responsibilities of Fund Manager for non-service funds and supervise the Sqn Bar and to be the POC for all association matters.
6. Management of the Sqn Permanent Staff and Civilian Staff and to act as Civil Service LM and Sub-Unit Welfare Officer.
7. Attend meetings and conferences on behalf of the OC and Sqn, prepare reports and returns. Prepare Sqn Orders, DC and utilise all methods of communication.
8. Be prepared to support the Regiment during training activities, Regimentally required Currency & Competency (CPD), and during the Regiment’s Annual Training Period (ATP).
9. Administer the Squadron on a day-to-day basis and provide the necessary infrastructure and support for the Army Reserve personnel of the sub-unit.

The post of PSAO is the main focal point of the Sqn and as such the incumbent must possess a myriad of skills, knowledge and characteristics.  These skills range from man management to welfare and administration to organisation.  Liaison between the PS and our reservists is paramount and the main effort for the PSAO is to ensure the Reservist within the Sqn have to highest possible level of support and that the PS are focussed on achieving this. As PSAO you will be expected to be involved in all aspects of the Sqn – Training, Recruitment, Administration and Career management, as well as maintaining the Sqn ethos, wellbeing and links to external agencies. You are also the lead for Sqn social, AT, sporting events and run the Sqn Account and oversee the Bar. The sqn is undermanned, PSAO is expected to support, lead, guide and be accountable for the Sqn’s recruitment and Phase 1 training pipeline.
