A vacancy has arisen for a Warrant Officer / Flight Lieutenant Logistics to serve as a PTVR OC Logs at 605 Squadron, RAF Cosford on PTVR Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS).

Duties include:

The management, development and wellbeing of the Sqn’s Logs Flt. Co-ordinate, manage and lead the Sqn’s Logs Flt, incorporating Supply, MT and Chefs.

Form part of the Sqn Executive, providing specialist direction where necessary.

In conjunction with the Sqn XO develop the Sqn’s ATP liaising with instructors, external stakeholders and sister Sqns to plan and co-ordinate vocational/continuation training.

Line management responsibilities for Sqn PTVRs including timely completion of annual appraisals, welfare issues and mandatory qualifications/targets achieved in year.

Ensure personnel are suitably prepared to undertake their duties either on mobilisation or RSDs to enhance both the reputation of the Sqn and the Reserves.

Develop the structure of the Logs Flt, identify accelerated promotion opportunities to populate the hierarchy and become a self-sufficient Flt.   

Other duties as instructed by your CoC to provide any additional support to the Sqn, Stn or RAF as a whole.

Prepared to work regular weekends, at least one per calendar month.

Must either have been, or currently be, a Warrant Officer Logistics trade or a FS with a positive recommendation for promotion.

Must either have been, or currently be, a Flight Lieutenant Logistics Branch or a FO Logistics Branch with a positive recommendation for promotion.

Experience of working with Reserves, preferably on a RAuxAF Sqn.

The appointment is on PTVR TCoS in accordance with AP 3392 Vol 7 Part 1 Chapter 6 and AP3392 Vol 7 Part 2, for an initial period of 12 years.

Confirmation of appointment will depend on successful completion of a Medical. Personnel who do not meet the Age/Permanent Joint Medical Employment Standard (PJMES) may apply for the appointment but will only be considered subject to an executive waiver process on a case by case basis.

Candidates who have been out of regular or reserve service for more than 5 years may be considered for this appointment. Prior approval must be sought from the relevant Branch & Trade Advisor to confirm current and past experience prior to being invited to interview.

Applicants of an equivalent rank from sister Services may apply but will only be accepted into RAFR service if an appropriate branch/trade sponsor can be identified to sponsor the applicant. Branch/trade sponsor approval must be agreed before the interview.

Regular Service Applicants. Personnel currently serving in the Regular Royal Air Force should be mindful of the current Early Termination Minimum Waiting Time (MWT) for their respective Rank, Branch/Trade and ensure this MWT is compatible with the post sponsor’s proposed start date, prior to applying.

If already serving RAuxAF, confirmation of appointment will depend on successful completion of a transfer process, agreed by both losing and gaining units. A medical will be undertaken as part of the transfer.
