Vacancy detail

Unified Career Management (UCM) is a unit within UK StratCom established with the aim of creating an improved, tailored, central career management service for Defence Cyber Cadre personnel, enabling Defence's specialised cyber outputs & capability to be met more effectively and efficiently. 

UCM Policy will look to ensure key TACOS are rationalised and harmonised across sS if required: providing equity; increasing individual and organisational opportunities; and enabling the benefit realisation of other functional components.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement and maintain UCM Policy, liaising with sS as required, and acting as the POC for all UCM Policy enquiries.
  • SME for sS and Centre interaction for all UCM policy and process matters, including policy development, ensuring compliance and coherence.
  • Liaise with TLBs and Cap owners to understand impact of wider CM policy on UCM, enable activity to mitigate risks and issues.
  • Review all TACOS resulting from UCM Policy, maintaining liaison with sS and Cap owners to ensure harmonisation.
  • Ensure effective communications processes to enable timely circulation of policy and process changes to all stakeholders including sS, CMs and Cap areas.
  • Assist in the production of Promotion Quota's.
  • Use knowledge, skills and experience to provide support to the wider UCM team as required.
  • Deputise for SO1 UCM Policy in their absence.

Must be an OF3 of any specialisation. OF2 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent OJAR will be considered.

OF4 applicants, if successful, will only be paid as and wear the rank of OF3.

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Minimum ICSC or equivalent.

Previous experience in developing and/or implementing personnel policy.


Joint HQ staff experience.

LOCATION: Northwood HQ or Kentigern House, Glasgow (primarily remote working – In office 1-2 days/week.)
