Vacancy detail

Unit Role: HQ Field Army directs the preparation and generation of forces for current and contingent operations and for persistent engagement overseas. 
Position Role: SO1 Training will coordinate Transform training requirements; ensuring the Transform team is appropriately skilled and any training for Transform projects is fit for purpose. 
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out Training Requirements Authority tasks and responsibilities for HQ Field Army’s Transform dept. 
2. Manage, support, guide and direct personnel allocated to training roles within Transform. 
3. Ensure all training developed for and by Transform is compliant with relevant Defence and Army policy.
4. Ensure the Transform team possesses the relevant knowledge and skills to be effective in their roles. 
5. Manage the Transform annual training budget. 
6. Identify training aspects of Transform projects which should be included in Core Army mandatory training and education. 
7. Identify training delivery models that will best meet Transform’s training requirements in terms of meeting the training needs, ensuring value for money and efficacy of delivery and training outcomes.
8. Be prepared to support the Transform Chain of Command on any training related tasks.

Must have a thorough understanding and experience of Army and Defence training.

Training policy and development experience within a training establishment is highly desirable, as is experience in Formation or Army HQ. Will ideally be DSAT trained.

ICSC(L)

Army HQ experience and considerable training KSE beneficial.

Experience in change projects is desirable

Experience of the Operational lessons process would be useful

FTRS Application through to boarding

Post initially for 12months.  Possibly extended to 24months.

Primarily location is Andover with capacity to WFH.  Limited travel to Fd Army Units and locations.

This post requires a training SME who is prepared to be involved with all aspects of training including development, design and delivery, as well as assurance and management.
