A vacancy has arisen for a  Sgt – Any Trade – to serve as the Squadron Quality Assurance Coordinator (SQAC) at ACS RAF Halton on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of not before 11 June 2022.  

Responsible for:

1. Set a risk-based Self Audit (SA) programme; coordinate the Sqn’s SA programme, including auditor selection; scope of the SA; preparation of the SA package for delivery; briefing auditors for SAs; approving SA report on behalf of OC ACS.
2. Coordinate and act as secretary for Sqn Quality Review Meetings.
3. Ensure SA reports are sent to OC for reading/comment, prior to returning to the QSC.
4. As Q-GEN-QAS and X-700 auditor in support of the IQA programme, collaborate with ACS WOs to ensure sufficient numbers of qualified self-auditors within the Sqn to support the SA programme.
5. Act as QA focal point and SME for working level dissemination on QA matters. Ensure QA training and briefing is delivered to newly arrived personnel (induction) and annual QA refresher training is given to all Sqn personnel (CPD schedule) as part of the ACS Career Pathway iaw TTP.
6. Understand and articulate requirements of all MLC accreditation with professional management and leadership bodies iot brief on day one as to InVal procedures and accreditation, and deputise for Flt Cdr as required, in liaison with Course Commanders.  
7. Design and management of the ACS SharePoint site iaw JSP 441.
8. Attending Unit Quality Review meetings, Wing Quality Meetings and Unit SQAC meetings.
9. Sqn Senior Super User responsible for carrying out the duties of Information Management (IM) across ACS and liaising with HAL Trg Wg Super Users for continuity and sharing better practice.  
10. Deputise for FS TEL for the coordination and maintenance of Moodle functionality, ensuring updates and changes are implemented when necessary.
11. Conduct internal validation for MLC to ensure currency and relevance of ACS training.
12. Coordination, monitor and report all updates to ACS SOPs and TORs to Sponsors iaw TQM.
13. Deputise for FS Training Support
14. Sqn 1PA and 2PA coordinator, responsible for the audit cycle from start to completion including dissemnination of the report findings, update of QUIP and advising Sqn Execs iaw report findings.
15. Ensure all DTs complete the relevant DLE training and sign the appropriate DLE TORs
16. Use trend analysis to review course content as highlighted by ACS WOs or Training Support and aliging with the GPS requirement.
17. Championing an environment and culture where ideas and/or issues can be raised freely by any individual.

a.    Must either have been, or currently be, a Sgt (any trade) or a Cpl (any trade) eligible for promotion in accordance with AP 3392 Vol 2 Leaflet 560 and AP 3376 Vol 1. All Promotions will be ratified by means of a Promotion Board. 
  
b.    The ability to effectively communicate with both military and civilian personnel in both formal and non-formal settings.

c.    The ability to work as an individual and as part of a team.

d.    A good level of knowledge and skills regarding MS office 365 suite and other MOD preferred platforms and software.

Unless already enlisted in the Reserve Air Forces the successful applicant will be required to be enlisted in the RAFR with a liability for call-out for permanent service.

The appointment is on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) TCoS in accordance with AP 3392 Vol 7 Part 1 and AP3392 Vol 7 Part 3 Chapter 2 for an initial period of up to 31 December 2025.

Confirmation of appointment will depend on successful completion of a RAF Medical Board.  Personnel who do not meet the Age/Permanent Joint Medical Employment Standard (PJMES) may apply for the appointment but will only be considered subject to an executive waiver process on a case by case basis.

Regular Service Applicants.  Personnel currently serving in the Regular Royal Air Force should be mindful of the current Early Termination Minimum Waiting Time (MWT) for their respective Rank, Branch/Trade and ensure this MWT is compatible with the post sponsor’s proposed start date, prior to applying.

Ex-service candidates who have been administratively discharged through the QR1027 process will have their applications rejected as they are not eligible to join the RAF Reserves in accordance with AP 3391 (Vol 3, Lft 207, Annex L, Para 1a).

Pension Issues.  Personnel who qualify for a service pension should take financial advice from Defence Business Services (DBS) Pensions Department on the effect that undertaking reserve service has on their pension (details can be found on the JPA splash screen). Flexible Working Arrangements. In accordance with the Flexible Working (FW) Policy, Reserves personnel are able to request FW arrangements with their line manager.  Any immediate FW requirements should be agreed with the line management at the interview stage.

Remote working. Elements of this role can be executed remotely. Arrangements can be made with the line manager regarding remote working.

Individual Reinforcement Training (IRT) (Module 1) and RAF Fitness Test (RAFFT).  Reserve personnel are required to maintain currency in IRT and the RAFFT iaw the relevant TCoS.  The successful applicant will be expected to undertake IRT and the RAFFT within 6 months of commencing employment (if required).

Annual Salary and Leave.  Pay will be in accordance with the pay scales published for the reserve air forces.  Leave entitlement is detailed in JSP 760.

Accommodation. Personnel serving on FTRS(LC/HC)/ADC TCoS are eligible to occupy Single Living Accommodation (SLA) if available, at entitled rates, if serving within the Air Command TLB.
