The role of this post is primarily to advise Service Complaint Deciders on financial redress and manage business case submissions seeking financial authority. Responsibilities include:
1. Advise the Decision Body (DB) on the award of financial redress and prepare and submit financial business cases where required.
2. Provide advice to the SC Sec on financial awards recommend by the Armed Forces Commissioner, drafting and submitting business cases where required.
3. Where HA is required for financial redress, draft and deliver business cases and submissions to OGDs and HMT.
4. Direct DBS to award financial redress. To assure this process, maintain a Losses Register and provide quarterly data to higher-level budget holders.
5. Draft and issue instructions to DBs, complainants and others concerning SC proceedings, acting as POC and representing SC Sec at Oral Hearings.
6. Gain staff approval for the delegation of powers to award financial redress to SC Sec and other deciders. POC for the exercise of this power.
7. Provide appropriate input and responses to Parliamentary Questions and Ministerial Correspondence relating to the financial aspects of SCs.
8. Provide resilience to support the Pol Plans function, and other areas of ASCS as required. |
