Vacancy detail

1. Team Leader for the EC2SPHD Programme, representing the SRO and Programme Director respectively.  
2. Primary programme interface between sponsors, senior stakeholders, users, allies, DST, industry & academia.
3. Act as primary interface with the Defence AI Centre to ensure EC2SPHD coherence with Defence AI programmes 
4. Interface with Functional Leads & Cap Sponsors in Defence to identify & coordinate AI DEVSECOPS opportunities.
5. Horizon scanning to understand future AI technology developments, opportunities, and integration potential. 
6. Direct AI Field Trials, Test and Reference activity to address AI Technical, Ethical and Legal release requirements.
7. Coordinate with DSTL to identify & deliver AI Research and Development projects supporting the EC2SPHD.
8. Lead the Engagement & Communications across MOD in order to maintain the programme profile with stakeholders.

Must understand Defence structures and MOD MB/DefDig

Programme management experience of technology research/delivery programmes.

Must understand operational and capability requirements, with broad understanding of C4ISR and MDI capabilities and concepts.

Previous C&A experience essential

Professional Accreditation with a relevant industry body or AI training provided through a recognised academic body

First or post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Computer Science/Data Science/AI) an advantage

Operational experience useful

Intelligence and/or Info Systems (Trades/Fields) an advantage

FTRS Application through to boarding
This is a highly desirable, exciting opportunity for a dynamic candidate to influence how Defence can integrate AI technologies to achieve operational advantage. The candidate does not have to possess a background in AI but must demonstrate the aptitude to learn and adapt to a fast-moving technology environment. They must be equally comfortable working in a diverse group of Subject matter Experts and drawing upon their advice as required.
