Vacancy detail

1. Principle 2 Star formation officer, responsible for all HQ Fd Army and OPCOM Formation MS.

2. Personal MS Staff Officer to COS and DCOS Fd Army. 

3. Act as the primary interface with the APC to enable effective manning of Army HQ established military posts

4. Responsible for the coordination of  Job Specification reviews and supporting Board products including post prioritisation and support to permanent Board Members.

5. Responsible for staffing UK Honours and Awards.

6. Provide MS advice and informal career counselling to officers within HQ Fd Army and OPCOM Fmns.

7. Responsible to DCOS Fd Army for Order of Merit Bd (including Command,. ACSC, RCDS recommendations) and for delegated FTRS assignment Boards.

8. Responsible for the establishment issues

Staff qualified (ACSC Desirable - ICSC(L) Essential) and Experienced.

G1 MS and / or Career Management Experience at SO2 Essential - SO1 Desirable.

Wide staff experience including at Fmn or MoD level.

Formation Staff - Previous employment within a formation headquarters at SO1 Highly Desirable for credibility.

APC CM experience Highly Desirable for credibility and understanding of APC process

Flexible working would be considered - remote working for periods will be feasible but attendance at Fd Army HQ on a routine basis and for critical events is essential.

Will be expected to interact with 2* and 1* officers on a daily basis.

Works on a matrix basis to COS Fd Army, DCOS Fd Army and DCFA and as part of the COS Executive Team.

Leads the Fd Army MS Cell and Line Manager to a Regular WO2 (SA MS).

This is a new post - it sits at the centre of HQ Fd Army - a 2* HQ with COS, DCOS and DCFA.  It will cohere the Career Management / MS output as one of CFA's six 2* pillars.  In the near term it will have a critical function in work to transform the Fd Army HQ people element to meet the outcomes of the IR and AOM.

The post is FTRS HC RSG - the incumbent will not normally wear uniform.

The post is initially lifed for 2 years at which point the requirement will be reviewed in the light of AOM transformation.
