Primary Purpose

The Unit AUOO is to support the Unit Command in the development, promotion and delivery of Naval Ethos and Naval Service Core Values through the advancement and maintenance of robust Administrative, Divisional and Training systems capable of delivering the necessary morale and physical components of OC@R, and provide the main link with CMR HQ to ensure compliance with direction and guidance.

Secondary Purposes

a. Provide advice and support to the Ship’s Company, Permanent Staff, Senior Management Board and CMR staff as requested and required to ensure a coherent and cost-effective use of all training and manpower resources within the Unit.
b. To support all Permanent Staff to ensure that CMR and CO’s objectives are met.
c. Provide advice and support to Unit Command for routing training and admin matters as required by higher authority instructions and guidance.
d. Provide advice, quality assurance and oversight of the Unit Personnel Data and training matrices.
e. To be accountable to the CO for the production of the Unit KPI Performance Indicators and associated senior management board data as pursuant to direction and requirement by Command and ensure efficient and effective delivery of Unit output data as required by the CO and CMR directive.
f. Facilitate efficient passage of candidates through the recruiting pipeline, from attestation, through the medical and onto allocation into Ph1 and PH2 training in liaison with Unit Divisional Staff, SO1 INT and SO1 (OC) for individual Specialisations and NPT to ensure progress is maintained and courses/training are arranged and recorded.
g. The delivery of OC by the cost-effective administration, co-ordination and facilitation of training and other activities of Reservists.
h. To provide guidance and administrative support on all personnel matters relating to RNR Officers and Ratings from recruitment, through career progression, to non-attendance and discharge/retirement in liaison with and under the direction and guidance of CMR HQ and Navy Pers Res, and through the maintenance of Ship’s Company personal files.
i. To assist with Employer Engagement and Support activities. The Post Holder will support Unit activity in the area, by nature these evolutions will be at various locations and times and require support as directed by the UWO. The post holder will also ensure that directed letters are sent to all Employers in accordance with White Paper timelines.
j. Keep up to date and act as custodian of the One Truth List.


PRINCIPAL TASKS

The Unit AUOO is to:

a. Assist and provide advice and support on Naval Service matters to the UOO, Permanent Staff, Ship’s Company and Unit Command Team and to promote, develop and sustain the delivery of leadership, sound management and ultimately operational capability.
b. To deputise for the UOO in their absence for administrative matters.

SECONDARY TASKS

The Unit AUOO is to:

a. Provide advice to Unit Command and maintain oversight of the process of Reservists’ training records.
b. Monitor Unit Strength and details of numbers of UTS, TS, Joiners and leavers for inclusion into Unit reporting to CMR HQ.
c. Monitor and administer the Certificate of Efficiencies and Bounty process within Unit.
d. Facilitate appraisal reporting process within the Unit.

Must be a serving Regular or Maritime Reserve OF1-OF2  or Ex-Regular  OF1-OF2  of  ANY  specialisation.

The holder of the Unit AUOO post requires the following core competencies:

Domestic Considerations:

The holder of this post may work from home, however, some attendance at unit will be required. Details of this can be discussed at interview.

Applicants will undergo an initial eligibility sift. Successful applicants will have their details forwarded to the Post Sponsor to arrange interviews. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Following interviews; the successful applicant will be informed that they are the Preferred Candidate with details being sent to the CM RES FTRS Cell who will continue the recruitment process. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised accordingly.

Once the recruitment process is complete then the Preferred Candidate will be invited to take up FTRS.


 NB: Where the Anticipated Start date has already passed, the start date will be ASAP

Eligibility for FTRS/ADC

Any member of the Maritime Volunteer Reserves (RNR, RMR) or the Royal Fleet Reserves (RFR) (Ex-Regular Reserve) may volunteer to undertake a period of FTRS/ADC. Ex-Regular personnel whose RFR liability has run out may be re-instated to take up FTRS/ADC.

Applicants undertaking a period of FTRS/ADC must be suitably qualified by rank/rate, specialisation, qualifications and experience to fill the posts for which they apply. Applications will be accepted from reservists who hold one rank/rate or more above or one rank/rate only below the advertised rank. Applicants one rank below may be employed in the acting higher rank (excluding the advertised Rank of WO2 or WO1) if they are suitable, qualified and meet current promotion regulations in all respects. Applicants prepared to serve in a position at a lower rank/rate then the rank/rate worn will be appropriate to that of the position. Exceptions will not normally be considered.

Applicants must also be medically fit to fulfil the duties which their Commitment will require them to undertake. Personnel who have been discharged through the MBOS and Employability Board will not be considered.

Applicants of an equivalent rank from sister services may apply, however Ex-Regular or Volunteer Reserve Officers and Volunteer Reserve Other Ranks will only be accepted if they are FIRST accepted into the RNR or RMR and only if an appropriate specialisation sponsor can be identified to sponsor the applicant. Ex-Regular Other Ranks will be accepted but will have to transfer to the RFR.
