Unit Function

To maximise Defence’s ability to meet the challenges of future operations by bringing science and technology to life through education and training.

Position Role

Provision of J1 and J4 support to Squadron staff and undergraduates

Responsibilities 

  1. Support Sqn AO for admin spt to unit staff and students.
  2. Manage and apply for all Thunderer Sqn bursaries for eligible personnel.
  3. Unit MT Mgr, ctrl unit MT, unit transport costs, book transport to meet MT requests, organise MT maint and ensure all docs are correct and returned.
  4. Unit Permit Holder issuing FMT 600s and maintain Database. Check Individual Records of Trg, Drivers Licences and annotate paperwork for Fam Drives.
  5. Responsible for unit stores G1098, AT Eqt, ORP, clothing and stationery stores.  Responsible for external and internal J4 audit checks.
  6. Assume the role of J4 (Quarter Master) prior to and during military exercises if required. Responsible for movement of wpns and munitions.
  7. Lecture/teach on specific J1 and J4 issues such as the impact of AFPRB findings and the use of JPA.
  8. Hold the Sqn bank account as the mess treasurer. Advise the PMC on all financial aspects of the mess accounts and oversee the mess bills member.

Must be an OF 6 of any specialisation. OF 4 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent SJAR will be considered.

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Flexible working option available.

There will be a requirement to work in office on a number occasions as stipulated, however, a remote working option will be available at other times.
