Domestic Considerations: FTRS Home Commitment  Army/ Reserve post, Tuesday evening drill night 19.30 - 21.30 and some travel and overnight duty is required.
Position Role:  Personnel Staff Administration Officer (PSAO).
The Permanent Staff Administration Officer (PSAO) is responsible to the Bty Comd for the overall management of administrative matters in respect of Bty personnel, the QM/RFCA for accommodation and equipment, and to the RAO for Regiment Administration policy covering all aspects of G1 to G9.  The CO’s Financial Directive and Unit Standing Orders are to be adhered to; however, PSAO key responsibilities and reporting duties include:  

a.            All administrative and personnel matters, you are required to pass the annual G1 Audit.  The PSAO is to adhere to the Unit Administration Manual and current policies to effectively provide administrative support, G1 compliance and effective management of Bty Civil Service and Military employees under the direction of the RAO.  The following list is an example of responsibilities however it is not exhaustive and is subject to policy and management change. The role includes many administrative and financial management areas such as, Pay including assurance, Allowances, Bounty quarterly reviews, Recruitment, Leave, Enlistments, management of Engagement Expiry Dates Discharges, Promotions, PAPMIS administration, I-expense audit and guidance. The PSAO is required to ensure Induction documentation, JPA (full record print) & Personnel (P files) information is current.  He/she is to ensure Bty administrative management practices routinely produce administrative documentation, forms and reports within required policy timelines to effect efficient Bty administration.
b.    Provide Recruitment statistics and manning support.  The PSAO is the focus for the Battery Recruiting Plan, under the direction of the Battery Commander and ROSO.  He is to ensure that the Battery retains as many trained soldiers as is practicable.  
c.    As a commissioned officer you will be the Bty Fund Manager and Service Fund Account Holder.  In compliance with Unit Standing Orders the post holder must complete an on-line Fund Manager training course, remain in-date and attend monthly RAO/FSA finance meetings which will provide financial direction on fund management tasks required each month.    
d.    Management of the ARC on behalf of the QM and RFCA including Security, Fire, Health and Safety Officer for all personnel and all G4 functions for the Bty.
e.    Sub-Unit Data Protection Officer, Welfare Officer and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor (post training).
The PSAO manages the Bty in the absence of the BC (Reserve).  This post is vital to the provision of sub-unit Management & Support.  The PSAO ensures the delivery of the Army's governance and assurance requirements with regards to personnel documents, finance, weapons and data.  Loss of these will have operational, security or reputation impact on the unit and in turn the Army.

Army background , Computer literate with experience of JPA, Word, Excel and power-point.
G1 & G4 personnel and management experience.desirable.
