Assume a head of cell duty in the running of EXCON for planned exercises.
Advise, shape, evaluate, arbitrate and prioritise Joint capability across all DLODs
Direct support to current operations
Lead Exercise Planning Teams for UK JTF HQ and Component CPXs at Op level (can incl HQ BFSAI CPX, the Five Powers Defence Arrangement, CJEF CPXs).

Supervise civilian contract staff (JWST) in planning, co-ordinating and conducting Joint Exercises and act as the 1RO and 2RO to the JW Exercises Team

Enable the Joint Force to operate effectively, now and in the future.
Sound understanding of Joint and Combined operations at the operational and strategic levels.
Experience of a joint environment and must be able to operate across single Service boundaries to reconcile differences of opinion.
Employer Comment: Must be able to deploy on Command Post Exercises around the world for up to 40 days a year. Planning conferences will require additional overseas travel.
This appointment requires an officer with sound understanding of Joint and Combined operations at the operational and strategic levels. An officer with previous experience of exercise planning or having served in a joint environment would be well suited: the officer must be able to operate across single Service boundaries to reconcile differences of opinion.
Salary Range £75-87K
