Vacancy detail

We have an opening for a talented programme manager to join our dynamic team to initiate the Nexus Reserves career management project whilst providing coherency and development on 3 other reserve change management programmes. This is a short-term (9 month*) remote working opportunity on mobilised TCoS to bolster and provide high calibre support to the DACOS Reserves (Delivery and Policy) area.
We’re looking for someone with intimate knowledge of the RAF Reserves, a self-starter with drive and passion to bring tangible change to help improve the career management of the Reserves. We need you to be able to assimilate information quickly, determine ways ahead and represent DACOS Res (Del & Pol) at key meetings as her SME. You’ll have a proven track record of delivering projects on time and budget and be content with working on your own and as part of a wider team. The role is remote working based, with occasional attendance at RAF High Wycombe to attend meetings. You’ll have direct oversight and responsibility for your co-worker.
For currently serving personnel last four appraisals with interview, for ex-service, last four appraisals, CV and interview.

The primary requirement is to work on the NEXUS Reserves Career management project, from initial scoping, to determining resource requirements, developing processes and policy and then handing the project over to a delivery team. Additionally, we will need you to lean into 3 other change management programmes; Astra Reserve Optimisation, Reserve Professions and Digitisation to aid delivery of the reserves narrative in developing and driving these programmes forward in concert with Nexus Reserves career management.

You’ll work collegiately with a programme controller to maintain coherency with the core and secondary programmes, working with cross-functional teams within the HQ. The role offers a rare opportunity to directly shape the future outlook of HR support to the RAF reserves.

The Project.   The NEXUS Reserves career management project looks at how we can bring effective through life career management to the Reserves (from Part-time Volunteer Reserve to Full Time Reserve Service) akin to the HR management the regulars receive.

The DACOS Reserves (Delivery and Policy) team comprises around 40 full and part time staff supporting 3 reserve areas; Mobilisation, Reserve Support (HR) and Reserve Employer Engagement. The teams are based across the UK, employing hybrid working methods to deliver big effects.
