Vacancy detail

Subject to formal establishment, a vacancy will arise for a OF4 to serve as DLab Gp DLC SO1 Cse Mgr 7 at MOD Shrivenham on FTRS  Home Commitment Terms and Conditions of Service (TaCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 Sep 25.

Unit Function:

To deliver world-class education and training to leader to develop the intellectual edge needed for success on operations and leadership in government.

Position Role:

Directing staff for Senior Leadership Programmes for the Defence Leadership Centre.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, manage and deliver learning sessions for the Defence Strategic Leader Programme (DSLP) mandatory for all Reg/ Res 1* and MOD SCS-1s

 

  • Coordinate, manage and deliver learning sessions for the Advanced Defence Strategic Leader Programme (ADSLP) select mil 2* and MOD SCS-2s

 

  • Design, deliver and coordinate Strategic Leaders Alumni Masterclass annually.

 

  • Remain familiar with the latest leadership thinking to enable constructive challenge of delegates, critique delivery practice and re-design programmes

 

  • Develop delivery plan for FY, ensuring business cases and policy papers are staffed at appropriate times for ADSLP, DSLP and Alumni Masterclass.

 

  • Form effective working relationships with TRA, TDA,  sS POC and Leadership Academies. Build relationships with OGDs to support attendance of ADSLP.

 

  • Manage all DSAT responsibilities, maintaining Learning Specs and ensure management information is accurately and timely recorded iaw DLaB processes.

 

  • Provide assistance to Hd DLC Delivery Team, Hd DLaB and DS as and where required and represent DLaB at appropriate Conferences and Working Groups.

 

Must be an OF4 of any specialisation. OF3 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent OJAR will be considered.

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Employer Comments:

  • Previous employment or experience at the Defence Academy is highly desirable.
  • Masters level study as an indicator of ability to collect, assimilate and interrogate information effectively is highly desirable. Academic writing and further study is encouraged in this role.
  • Operational experience would help to enhance credibility.
  • Previous employment as a training manager or training consultant would enable the incumbent to understand and intelligently apply the requirements of JSP822.
  • Experience of working in a training organisation, specifically JSCSC, is highly desirable as this would benefit the incumbent in understanding the Defence principles of education and training provision.
