Domestic Considerations, RSDs: The post offers a high attendance level and hybrid working days when appropriate, with the opportunity to work upwards of 48 days per year.  Working pattern can involve week days and weekends during modular and consolidated courses. Army Reserve post, based in MERSEYSIDE with some travel and overnight duty required.

Position Role: To support the delivery of Unit training and administration as a Physical Training Instructor.

Responsibilities:

  1. Instruction on courses to the standard as directed by the QMSI.
  2. To be qualified to Advanced PTI and instruct on all PT/PD related subjects and prepare lessons.
  3. To compile and complete attendance registers, MySafety reports, signature sheets, report all injuries and damages of personnel and equipment.
  4. To act as admin NCO on a course, and any other duties as required by CoC.
  5. Provide feedback to the Wing CSM on any aspect of the courses.
  6. Conduct all gymnasium inductions, test permanent staff on annual fitness tests.
  7. Support the QMSI PT in all aspects of PT/PD and to keep PTI log books up to date.
  8. Provide advice, coaching, training programmes for Army Reserve personnel; whether fit, injured or returning from injury.  

AAPTI Basic Course as a minimum is essential

Suitable & Recommended on last SJAR for Phase 1 training.

Experience of working in a Phase 1 training establishment. 

PTI Advance - can be obtained whilst in post.

Driving Licence.

Familiarisation Visit followed by Appointment Board.

We deliver demanding, realistic but safe basic training that develops the character of our soldiers so that they can embark on their military career with confidence and a will to win. We teach the values and standards of the British Army using inspirational role models and ensure that our soldiers can do the basics brilliantly.

Further Information:

We are a satellite training location who offer reservist the ability to train locally in a modular fashion . The unit is small with approximately 70 personnel. With our HQ in Strensall and 2 training companies based in Strensall (York) and Hightown (Merseyside). We welcome and train reserve recruits from all over the UK.

This role will also give you the opportunity to undertake training courses that may not be available to you through your own unit, such as skill at arms, range qualifications, BCD and Map Reading.

This is a reservist role that can offer up upwards of 48 days per year, working pattern can involve week days and weekends during modular and consolidated courses.
