DCDC is responsible for development and delivery of horizon scanning, strategic analysis, joint concepts and doctrine in support of defence policy and strategy makers.

The SO1 Doctrine 9 will write and maintain a range of operational-level UK and NATO thematic and functional doctrine publications focussing on the Cyber and Electromagnetic (EM) Domain.

With specific responsibility for:

Provide the staff lead for joint doctrine publications for integrated operations in the Cyber and EM domain.
Liaise with, other government departments, the academic community, and JSCSC and the wider doctrine user community for the planning and conduct of joint operations in the Cyber and EM domain.  
Influence Allied joint doctrine for the planning and conduct of joint operations in the Cyber and EM domain.
Custodian for proposed Allied joint Cyber and EM doctrine..
Custodian for UK Cyber and EM operational and domain doctrine and JDP-6 CIS Support to Joint Operations.
Provide generalist and specialist advice to other doctrine writers at DCDC and single-service warfare centres.
Contribute to wider DCDC work as required.
Deputise for AH Doctrine as required.
