Vacancy detail

1.  Lead the provision of professional MS advice and guidance to the GOC, commanders and individuals within 1 UK Div.
2.  Act as the GOC's personal staff officer and first point of call for all matters of Army Career Management and other sS when appropriate.
3.  Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of MS processes, distr and interpretation of APC and Div MS policy within 1 UK Div.
4.  Responsible to the GOC and MS for the timely and accurate administration of all annual reports within 1 UK Div.
5.  Provide the principal focal point for all H&A activity across 1 UK Div.
6.  Act as the focal point for consultation between HQ 1 UK Div and Army HQ for OF4, OF5 and OF6 grades on and reports behalf of the GOC.
7.  Act as focal point/SME for FTRS appointments within 1 UK Div.
8.  Provide input to any MS-related Service Complaints.
A wide range of staff experience at Gde 2 and preferably Gde 1 - ideally including Fmn level is essential in order to build the knowledge on which to deliver professional advice.  Promotion into the post is feasible but challenging given the requirement for wide Pers experience and credibility.
Must have previous military Pers staff experience - preferably in a range of posts delivering Pers / HR / MS.  Service in the APC is highly desirable.  An expert level of MS is essential and cannot be learned on the job.
ICSC, ACSC, precursor and equivalent qualifications.
Fmn level staff experience highly desirable preferably at 2*.

A unique post within a Fmn / 2* HQ - the incumbent will have direct and regular access to the GOC / Senior Offrs but also to the other principal staff officers and subordinate commanders. Credibility and approachability are key - advice will invariably be difficult and the incumbent must have the confidence to understand when to step in and how to impart this advice. Tact is essential but this must be backed up by the determination to hold the line - protecting Commanders and Service People. 

Salary Range £66-76K
