SO2 Training, Directorate of Army Recruiting (20870)

Role: Principal staff officer to DACOS PCO on all training pipeline matters in the Dir DAR's and Comd SJC's Personnel Campaign Office - a small team based from HQ SJC, Aldershot. To be clear, this is not a hands-on tactical training design role and requires high levels of empathy; analytical capacity, training and recruiting experience.

Responsible for analysing and reporting the pan-Army Basic Training and Initial Trade Training outputs delivered by Standing Joint Command (SJC). The roleholder must understand the impact of rising Army inflow (Op INVECTOR) on the recruiting and training pipeline, and specifcally contribute to the assurance of the FoGtTTs, and the RPP contractor's inflow forecast and how this will impact the shape and size of Basic Training, ITT and Holdover implications. A critical function will be daily engagement with 3-star level HQs - CLF's new training directorate; HQ SJC; and 2-star level HQs - LWC; AITC DAR Recruiting Branch; Army Pers Dir.

Essential.  Able to brief convincingly in person, remotely and in writing at 2-star level.  Able to network and influence effectively across a wide range of stakeholders from unit to 4-star HQ levels.  Has the tact and diplomacy to hold 2-star formations to account for the delivery of timely and accurate work into the 3-star HQ.
Essential.  The span of this role demands someone who can rapidly build effective working relationships and collaborate with disparate stakeholders to deliver results.
Essential. Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, and as part of a small team must be capable of covering a broad range of Personnel; Recruiting and Workforce Planning issues.

Desirable: Previous proven SO2 experience in 1-3 star level HQs. A good understanding of Army Training and Recruiting processes and pipleines
Desirable: Understands the impact of the quality of soldiers and officers coming out of Basic and Initial Trade Training  
Desirable: Previous Pers (Adjt, Pol, Cap, Recruiting, SWP, WF Plans) experience is a significant advantage
Desirable: Previous experience of a training establishment and/or recruit Assessment Centres
